All the 9/11 families profited financially by the deaths of their family members. But that has nothing to do with this. When this was going on I said that the Schiavos would be the first to profit financially. I'm just stating on this thread that I was correct. Am I missing something here? Somebody paid their way over to Rome. And it was for this photo op. This is a political statement and they're being used for that purpose. I'm not saying nobody else does it, I'm not even saying it's wrong. I'm merely coming to conclusions based on the evidence.

a trip to Rome is not "profit". profit is something I can go to the bank with, buy a car with, etc.

they have a story they want to tell, usually that involves some mechanism of involvement with the media - books, TV interviews, movies, photo ops. if you want to say to that they would be the first party to PROMOTE their position in this case, I could accept that. the word PROFIT does not apply until I see them start selling Terri's keepsakes on EBAY.

You know for a fact they didn't pay for their own trip?

Good GAWD lady, they are CATHOLICS, don't you think that as such, meeting the Pope would matter more than any picture of the meeting that they could sell (or maybe, give away for free)?

You complain that "this is a political statement" by the Schiavos or the Vatican.

Yeah -- a damned good political statement. One I'd like to keep hearing and seeing.
