"Everyone involved in the reporting process conducted themselves professionally," the magazine's editor, Mark Whitaker, insisted yesterday in several interviews. "We went by the book."
Unfortunatly that book is Communist Manifesto

SOMEONE needs to do the job.
When this story broke I asked some people I work with, (most of the people I work with pay very little attention to this kind of thing) too a person their answer was 'well what did they expect would happen? Don't they know anything about the Arabs?

And .. the reaction to the USA is exactly what Newsweek was hoping would happen.
A lot of people don't think Newsweek did this intentionally .. YES THEY DID .. they knew exactly what would happen .. and what DID HAPPEN was exactly what they wanted.
The mindset at Newsweek is the same as the WP - who owns them .. they are obsessed with causing the Bush admin and our military to be embarrassed and to look bad to the world. It's sick!!
Too bad the people at Newsweek cannot be forced to go to Afghanistan and reap the seed they have sown.

If they went by the book, they need to flush that book down the john, and write a new book.

"Hey - can we have some of your weather? It's darn cold up here."
Oh, my...YES, Susan, but I'll have to send the heat in one box and the humidity in another BIGGER box! Most years a muggy day like we're having would've spawned a couple of tornadoes by now, but spring's been pretty calm this year. Hope you warm up soon (you could try watching congressional hearings...it's like sitting on your front porch, watching the road to Hell...but then you'd be hot AND bothered! ;).
