"The Guiding SEARCHLIGHT, " "As the SENATE Turns, "One NOMINATION to Live" "GERIATRIC Hospital" (for all you Byrd and Lautenberg fans out there). Follow along with us, as the Dems raise the level of histrionics, bloviation, pontification, and all around bad acting to new highs, er, lows...

The Demodogs on the far left will kill any chance of McCain getting nominated there. Believe it or not, the conservative "scorecards" all rate him highly, and abortion is one of those litmus issues that would derail him. His only real chance of being elected president would be as a third party candidate.

What's interesting to me, is that in the past we would only know about these things through the newspapers, now we see it live, and the Democrats think that we are not listening, the Republicans seem to understand that we are engaged and we are watching! We are evaluating and we are planning!

You know, all of these speeches by the dems---they are yawners to us because we have heard them so many times, BUT, right now the news channels are showing more of them so the "regular" people that don't watch C-span or freep, will see them for the first time---

Based on that theory, I would say the REpublicans are giving a much better first impression, and the Dems seem fanatically absurd!

"FEinstein says her calls are 3 to 1 against 'nuclear option" -

Trust me, she wouldn't know!! She's my Senator (God how I hate to have to say that) and I have contacted her on numerous occasions. More than half of the time I get an e-mail back thanking me for my input on a matter DIFFERENT from what I e-mailed about!! I finally just quit contacting her...

that's true, and this technology is still evolving... it'll be interesting to see where forums like this are in 5, 10 years... and what we the people will be able to do.

They used to about 200 years ago. A good illustration of how something hopelessly antiquated is still brought up by the left.

This is good news.. No work, the more my wallet feels safe.. Harry Reid did us a favor.

Half of a favor. Not all concurrent operation of committees (concurrent with the Senate being in session) is subject to a requirement for unanimous consent to waive a rule.

RULE XXVI
COMMITTEE PROCEDURE

5. (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of the rules, when the Senate is in session, no committee of the Senate or any subcommittee thereof may meet, without special leave, after the conclusion of the first two hours after the meeting of the Senate commenced and in no case after two o'clock postmeridian unless consent therefor has been obtained from the majority leader and the minority leader (or in the event of the absence of either of such leaders, from his designee). The prohibition contained in the preceding sentence shall not apply to the Committee on Appropriations or the Committee on the Budget. The majority leader or his designee shall announce to the Senate whenever consent has been given under this subparagraph and shall state the time and place of such meeting. The right to make such announcement of consent shall have the same priority as the filing of a cloture motion.

Another point..I think I see some of Frist's strategery..Own is the judge the Dems hate the most..yet in the debate so far..98% of the Dems' comments are about the nuclear option, and NOT about Owen..she is almost getting a pass..

I am watching the body language, Kennedy was shaking like he has a neurological disease...Schumer looking over his glasses, not looking confident just nasty, seems to be losing his hair by the minute...

Heh. Schumer whined that when he gets up in the morning these days, he has "butterflies in [his] stomach" with fear over the change that may be coming in the Senate.

I hereby raise a toast for more "shakes" for the Chappaquiddick Kid, and more "butterflies" for Chucky Cheese Schumer.
