good morning...I wanted just ONE GOP senator to come ot the floor and ask Boxer, rhetorically, why if JRB was so evil, 75% of the good people of California voted to retain her?..The GOP blows another opportunity..BTW..I'm starting the live Senate thread about 9am..see ya there
I'll watch for your thread. I'm hoping my office mates have business elsewhere because I don't want to miss any of this.
Would you please ping me? I am going to be away but would love to read the thread and catch up with what happened. Thanks.
Would you please ping me? I'll be gone most of the day, but would love to follow this thread. Thanks.
I thought this comment by Charles Krauthammer in his column of May 14th was good:
"The Democrats have unilaterally shattered one of the longest-running traditions in parliamentary history worldwide. They are not to be rewarded with a deal. They must either stop or be stopped by a simple change of Senate procedure that would do nothing more than take a 200-year-old unwritten rule and make it written.
What the Democrats have done is radical. What Frist is proposing is a restoration."
Reid said on the floor today, that of course JRB rec'd 83% (or whatever) of the vote, because she was running UNOPPOSED!!
He then proceeded to rip in to her, and cited the Atty General saying she was an activist judge, way outside the mainstream, blah, blah, blah,......
I had understood that the Atty Gen made those comments about Owens, not that that should stop Reid from mixing up the nominees. He was on a roll.....
