ACLU Wants Cross Removed From Cemetery (Man Vows To Keep Cross On Plot)
NBC4 ^ | May 12, 2005

ELK TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A cross monument in a Vinton County cemetery has some local residents fighting to keep it there, NBC 4's Mike Bowersock reported.

A representative from the American Civil Liberties Union told Elk Township the cross must leave the government-owned cemetery.

The monument was added to Elk Cemetery in 2004, after being in storage for eight years.

Some people said the large cross monument is promoting religion.

In 1996, the ACLU forced the county to remove the cross from the McArthur courthouse, where it sat for almost 40 years, Bowersock reported.

NBC 4 was unable to reach anyone at the ACLU Ohio office, but ACLU Legislative Director Gary Daniels reportedly said the issue is under investigation.

"I don't understand why he's picking on this cross in this county," said Elk Township trustee Mickey McDonald.

Aside from the cross monument, there are variety of religious symbols in the cemetery, including multiple crosses and a Star of David.

An argument could be made the cemetery plots are private property, Bowersock reported.

The plot the cross is on was donated to the late Cy Karns, who helped put it there.

Karns' son Steve vowed to keep the cross in the cemetery.

"We'll move it down there and make it bigger than it is now," Karns said.

How about if they put the cross in a toilet, will you be upset then, ACLU? Nope, didn't think so.

He's agreeing with you, it's cool.

I wonder if they'd ever try. One could write to them and make a "complaint", I suppose.

"Dear ACLU: There is a government cementary where religious icons are so prevelant, as to make a display on taxpayer-funded grounds. The address is Arlington National Cemetary. Please pursue this shameless display of religion on goverment land. Thank you."

The silence would be painful to the ears.

Doesn't the ACLU have anything better to do like defend NAMBLA!

ACLU "clients"...

NAMBLA publication called "The Rape and Escape Manual." Its actual title is "The Survival Manual: The Man's Guide to Staying Alive in Man-Boy Sexual Relationships."

"Its chapters explain how to build relationships with children,". "How to gain the confidence of children's parents. Where to go to have sex with children so as not to get caught...There is advice, if one gets caught, on when to leave America and how to rip off credit card companies to get cash to finance your flight."

Moral Absolutes Ping. I am seriously getting disgusted with the ACLU. It gets much money by these scam lawsuits. I hope they get de-fanged soon. The head guy Romero is a big homosexual activist. Funny how those on the wrong side of virtue and good hate any remembrance of God.

Finally sending out a lot of backed up articles…sorry I’ve been absent.

Let me know if you want on/off this pinglist.

there is another cemetary I can think of Right off the top of my head. It is a civil war cemetary in the Battlefield National Park in Vicksburg, MS.

There is really a lot of crosses there.

Correction:
The homosexuals, Feminist, and the ACLU is Satan's pawns.
There ? now ? that sounds better.
Homosexuality and Feminism is purely demonic and satanic.
That might just be the ACLU next step, to have all of the crosses removed from the Arlington cemetery.
And if they try to do that, I hope that will be the end of the ACLU.

The ACLU TOLD them it must go? Who the hell put them in charge. The ACLU is welcome to ask that it be removed, but to tell them? Sorry, ACLU, you don't make the freakin' rules.

Don't forget the Palestinians who wiped themselves with Bible pages during some siege or other. For some reason the MSM didn't stop the presses for that one, they just ignored it, or they mentioned it as an interesting aside.

This story is all the proof one needs to show that the MSM are completely uncaring about the WOT. They don't think it affects them one way or another. What they are doing would be considered spying if done by the enemy. Why would Al Qaeda and company have to waste precious resources spying on us? Our media do it. (Media is plural, to those who don't seem to understand that.) The NYTimes and their pals can yap about free press all they like--I am second to no one in my support of the first amendment--they are too damned cowardly to admit that they simply do not care if they reveal things harmful to America. They see themselves as spreaders of the truth. Oddly, this never includes their bank account numbers, but they have no problem revealing info that would get our young people killed over there.

You think they won't eventually attempt to do so? What kind of real resistance do they face? From the Republicans - the gang who can't even approve judges after controlling the Senate for 3 solid years? The ACLU marches on with little resistance. They are every bit as relentless as the worst Islamic jihadi, and "conservatives" fight them like the French fought Hitler's Wehrmacht. What's it going to take?

The ACLU is a greater threat to the continued existence of the United States than Iran, North Korea, Cuba, and the Jihadis combined. They practically own the courts in this country.
