THE issue in the tragedy of Terri Schiavo is the murder of an innocent woman by the State, purely because she was in no position to defend herself.
It will forever remain a black stain on modern "civilization".
And note that the very first response to this posting was: "Who is Terri Schiavo?" There is no more interest in Terri. She's gone and forgotten. During her ordeal, Free Republic was loaded with threads about Terri. Now, nothing. Very sad commentary on how "committed" we really are to tragic stories like this, and to the memories of people who, as you say, was murdered by the State only because she was helpless.
Thousands read and participated in the Terri threads. This evening, only 42 were interested enough to read the article.
