Los Angeles Mayoral Election Results
City Of Los Angeles City Clerk's Office ^ | 5/17/05

Posted on 05/17/2005 8:43:15 PM PDT by MplsSteve

The first election results are in...mail ballots only.

Rounding off the numbers, it come out to 51% for Villaraigosa and 49% for Hahn.

Do these numbers look better for either candidate?

Opinions anyone?

Hahn sucks, Villagarosa sucks.

Oops -- I screwed up in the number reporting, it's only 11.19%, but it still looks bad for Hahn and us.

Here is map of the council districts. I used to live in district 4 it seems. Ambrose is right.

Last one out of LA, remember to turn off the lights so that the rest of California has enough power. :-P

But between the two evils, Villaraigosa is by far the worst -- he is so soft on crime, that he is going to make LA the crime capital of the world, and the city where people pay the highest taxes.

Janice Hahn vs Villaigarosa in the 2009 runoff. You heard it here first.

Thanks for the map.

What a disaster -- Villaraigosa as Mayor!

He can't be any worse than Kenny Hahn's son.

Well, I did wait until Bulletin #3 and it's only getting worse!

Good night.

I should have gone to bed earlier, while I could still hold onto some thin shreds of hope...

:) Anything is possible in LA. The place has a certain political volatility. The town remakes itself biannually it seems. Right now, residential lofts converted from industrial buildings in downtown are the rage ($550 or so per square foot of industrial pad). The old Parkard Bell building looks like a quite splendid project.

Meathead Reiner is on Channel 9 celebrating Antonio's victory.

Oh, yes, he can.

I remember reading something that when they tried to crack down on gangs in the LA area, Villaraigosa opposed it.

Gee, thanks, you just made my evening even worse.

I can just see Villaraigosa running for Governor in 2006, or 2010.

Talk about a nightmare.

This city is sort of like the Balkans with all of its ethnic factions. Even the Hispanics are broken into pro-Molina and anti-Molina factions... which one does Antonio belong to?

It will be hard for him to run for gov. if he's in jail.

Good night! At least you don't have to wake up to the disappointment--you already know!

(Just looking for the bright side in a dark story!) LOL

I dunno, I don't see Antonio as being any worse than Kenny Hahn's son. Both are leftist hack pols... one just happens to be more obviously sleazy than the other, and has some charisma.

Molina was his mentor at one time (pulled him into the MTA),
but they reportedly had a falling out after his infidelities.

Molina will probably wield more real world power over LA than Antonio will.. Board of Sup. job is much more low key.
