Galloway speaks to the media after arriving Monday at Dulles International Airport outside Washington.

(CNN) -- British Parliament member George Galloway will face his accusers when he testifies Tuesday before a U.S. Senate panel probing the U.N. oil-for-food program in Iraq.

Galloway is due to appear before the U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, which stated in a report last week that deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein granted him vouchers for 20 million barrels of oil between 2000 and 2003.

Galloway is scheduled to appear late Tuesday morning in Washington as the final witness in a hearing that begins at 9:30 a.m. ET.

**SNIP**

Galloway, 51, who met with Saddam several times in the 1990s, has been a leading critic of British Prime Minister Tony Blair and his alliance with U.S. President George Bush in the war with Iraq. He was re-elected on an anti-war platform earlier this month.

**SNIP**

A new report from Democrats on the Senate subcommittee concludes the United States ended up with a majority of the oil lifted from Iraq after vendors paid illicit surcharges of 10 cents to 30 cents a barrel to Saddam.

**SNIP**

The Democratic report found Bayoil shipped a lot of oil allocated to a company called Italtech run by Augusto Giangrandi, a sometime Florida resident with dual Chilean-Italian citizenship.

I guess it all depends on how long the Senators give speeches instead of asking questions

I'm not going to watch Reid...I came back in the office to report that the current testimony is a report on what the Committee has found to date re Galloway.

They have found multiple sources documenting that Galloway (and others that we have seen on previous reporting of the list) was indeed a recipient of illegal oil allocations. They further established he sought to conceal it by directing funds through his "Mariam Appeal" charitable fund (as previously reported, too).

Bay oil lobbied UN, helped Russia in strategies to foil pricing policies which would have prevented Saddam from setting surcharges.

Investigators were able to trace 102 shipments of Iraqi oil into the U.S. by Bay Oil.

Illegally.

State Department did little to stop American companies from paying surcharges.

I just came back in the office to note the State Department business----was going to ask time era. Ah, investigator notes 2001 now and says in June Bay Oil was asked questions and then State went to OPEC to get the answers Bay Oil was refusing to supply.

Dare I surmise, then, that prior to the Bush administration taking office Bay Oil operated without question but in 2001 eyebrows were raised and questions started being asked?

with regards to the filibuster

The rats (and their media bootlickers) are in a fine mess.

I'm now convinced they don't have the votes to overide Frist. So what do they do?

If they refrain from filibustering so that Frist can't call for a rule change...they look like toothless tigers and their drooling base will be enraged.

If they filibuster, Frist will let it go on just long enough to let the public see what they're up to, then he'll play his winning hand on the Byrd Option.

This may go down in the books as THE classic example of a political party that overplayed its hand and got its b*tt handed to it in response. (Funny that the libs in Canada appear to be doing exactly the same thing at exactly the same moment!)

Is this the same Bay Oil that Goliath is charging $29.95 for access to their reports?
