McCain/Kennedy Expected to Unveil New Guestworker/Amnesty Legislation
FAIR ^ | May 16, 2005 | Staff

Posted on 05/16/2005 5:26:41 PM PDT by yoe

On May 12, Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Edward Kennedy (D-MA) and Representatives Jim Kolbe (R-AZ) and Jeff Flake (R-AZ) introduced companion guestworker amnesty bills, S. 1033 and H.R. 2330.

The text of this legislation is not yet available, but here's what we've learned this legislation entails.

Millions of currently resident illegal aliens would be permitted to buy guestworker status for a fee of $1,000. After the first three year term they could apply for three year extensions (for another $1000), and in the meantime, apply for green cards. After six years they would be eligible for permanent residency, which could ultimately lead to full U.S. citizenship.

New foreign workers would be permitted to buy three year renewable visas for $500, provided they can find an employer that will hire them. They too could apply for green cards after three years, and ultimately U.S. citizenship.

This bill creates a new H-5A visa category which permits 400,000 new guestworkers each year.

Nothing in the legislation prevents employers from continuing to hire illegal aliens. In fact, the sponsors of this legislation recently stated that they didn't think employers should be punished for hiring illegal workers.

Selling citizenship to illegal aliens and new foreign workers is NOT a legitimate immigration policy.

Once the details of this legislation become clearer we will update you further and request your assistance in opposing this outrageous guestworker amnesty by sending free faxes through our website to your legislators expressing strong opposition to S.1033 and H.R.2330.

No one that I know of has ever accused John McCain of being overly bright however his teaming up with the vitriolic, virulent anti-American Ted Kennedy is very telling of this AZ. politician. I wouldn't trust anything he signed his name to, especially after the CFR fiasco. President Bush has been stung by these two before, perhaps this time he will veto their bill if it ever reaches his desk. But rather than hold my breath, I will let my President know just how I feel, please do the same.

When any of you get a copy of the 'bill', please post it on FR.

It is so sad that an American hero like McLame would lend his good name to feces like this. I guess his time in POW status was very hard on him. No Republican has anything to do with a man who can not get a whore across a bridge. I myself from this point on refuse to accept McLame as a Republican. The rest of you can do what you want.

The bill proposes two new visa classifications, the H5A & H5B.

Those already in the country will be converted to H5B visa holders. The H5A will cover future guest workers. The quota on H5A is 400,000 per year with a possible additional 80,000.

I can't imagine this bill would make it to the president--at least I hope not---

I love the part that said that they don't think employers should be penalized for hiring illegals--THAT would be about the ONLY thing, short of a 20 ft tall 4ft thick brick wall, that would stop illegals from coming over here from now on,...

Besides, they are asking these people to pay $500 dollars, what a joke, we spend SO much more for their social services that it is ridiculous...

This is a stupid, stupid bill--and doesn't deserve any time on the house or senate schedule.

Me, too. Because if it does, it will surely be signed.

Representatives Jim Kolbe (R-AZ) and Jeff Flake (R-AZ)

Two RINO's who just signed their walking papers in the State of Arizona.

Graf will beat the crap out of Kolbe over this. And it will stick.

This is an Amnesty, folks. Nothing more. Get out of jail free.

With this announcement from these two P'sOS, expect another million illegal aliens to "show up" on our doorsteps before June is over.

The President's pen needs to run out of ink, sooner than later.

perhaps this time he will veto their bill if it ever reaches his desk.

Has he vetoed anything at all since becoming President? Maybe he's trying to set some sort of record.

When any of you get a copy of the 'bill', please post it on FR.

Will do.

"I love the part that said that they don't think employers should be penalized for hiring illegals"

Never mind that honest businessmen were run out of buisness because they paid taxes and workmans comp. Our laws are ignored and everything is tilted in favor of dishonesty and theft. The people representing us are third world.

Sounds like McCain/Kennedy might work out almost as well as McCain/Feingold!

This is how it will all go down.

Congressional leadership will keep Kennedy-McCain boxed up, allowing Cornyn-Kyl to be completed and brought to the floor of each house.

If Cornyn-Kyl can pass, Kennedy-McCain dies in committee.

If Cornyn-Kyl fails to pass, Kennedy-McCain will be released and likely will pass.

Down the road it looks like this bill will just be a slick amnesty type of citizenship for millions of Mexicon illegals. If that's what it is, it;s a slam against the rest of the world that plays by the rules.

US citizenship should be allowed to only a few special people from all over the world, not millions from one country just because they were slick enough to break our laws, how stooopid.

They need to keep him drunk enough he can't do anything but wheeze. Sobering him up enough to act conscious would be a hopeless effort.
