"Across California, children are bringing home notes warning of dire consequences if Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's scorched-earth budget is approved"

First, how does the union get the right to send notes home to anyone? Isn't this against the law on several levels?

Lastly, I think Tom makes some good points and I think what he says is worthy of discussion. I do believe his behavior during the last Gov. election does exclude him from any consideration for a job in Government where the people have to elect him. I think he betrayed us at our expense last election.

Tom made the point I think, that in real terms, we're spending the same this year as we've spent over the last few years for public education. The Governor hasn't cut education spending. He's a family man with school age kids. And yet he's portrayed as a monster for helping kids. With the public unions and the Democrats, you just can't win. That's why this phony debate is so sad, because we should be having a discussion over how we can use the dollars we spend more effectively. Then again for some people, that's never going to be quite enough.

They do it under the auspices of the PTA, which is nothing more than a front for the union position. I attended one PTA meeting when my daughter was in high school and found they were all in lock step with the teacher's union. Never attended another meeting....

You were doing so great until ya unleashed that betrayal beanball crack. ;-)

The guy has more time in state battling for California and his constituents than aRnie has primping for the media during his illustrious career.

The fact that you still begrudge Tom feeling like he was the best man for the job and seeking the Gubinorship is a bit befuddling.

Oh, well. I'll put it down as progress anyway. :)

Please provide a corroborating source that Tom McClintock promised Darryl Issa anything.

What state was that? I ask because here in California, Tom McClintock was the ONLY one who stood up for Republican values and conservative principles. You must have been watching a different election.

You don't think the teachers are wasting their valuable time teaching do you? They have time to take care of the union duties because they all have teacher aides watch movies with the children.
