OK, folks..let's se what going to happen today as we move closer to the showdown in the Senate. Live, at 1 PM EST on C-span 2, "Searchlight" Reid is holding a presser to discuss judicial nomination. The Senate then convenes at 2PM, and as Majority Leader, Frist will make the opening statement. Then Reid will speak. Frist as pissed at Reid last week..for announcing a possible compromise on the Senate floor without FIRST telling him of it..and Frist has yet to speak about Reid's comments about FBI files. Should be fireworks..
Believe me, I'd get banned for life! lol

I notice rreid is reading every single word...until he gets to the part about going to the White House. Then he starts verbatim quoting the president?????? Most of the time, senators will refuse to repeat the words of the president from a private conversation.

Actually, appointing Casey to replace Specter is a best-case scenario. At least he's pro-gun and, compared to Arlen, pro-life. I wouldn't put it past Rendell to appoint Allyson Schwartz, from the Philly area, who is so liberal she makes Hillary look like Rick Santorum. Rendell is up for re-election and his numbers aren't great.....so he's liable to want to throw some type of bone to Philly voters, without whom he hasn't got a shot in hell of winning. So far, he has managed to distance himself from the corruption trials in Philly, but who is to say that that won't change at some point.
