WASHINGTON -- On May 5, the U.S. Judicial Conference in Washington received a request from a man named Mike Rice from Oakland, Calif., for the financial disclosure records of U.S. Appeals Court Judge Edith Jones [5th Circuit] of Houston. A 20-year veteran on the bench, Jones is a perennial possibility for the U.S. Supreme Court. The demand for her personal records is part of a major intelligence raid preceding momentous confirmation fights in the Senate.
Jones was not alone as a target, and Rice is not just a nosy citizen. He and Craig Varoga, a former aide to Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, are partners in a California political consulting firm. Their May 5 petition requested financial information on 30 appellate judges in all but one of the country's judicial circuits, including nine widely mentioned Supreme Court possibilities. Varoga & Rice's client: NARAL Pro-Choice America.

Something is very very wrong with Harry Reid, I have watched him for years and in the past two years this man has turned into a raving maniac. I've only really followed Reid for the last couple of years
I keep hearing about how he has always been fair & balance ..
I don't know what he was like before .. but the last couple of years I haven't seen that
However ... this part of the article disturbs me
Which nominees? "We have lots of nominees that we have great concern about," said Keenan. "We're watching all of them." In short, NARAL has hired private investigators to embark on a fishing expedition to find irregularities in potential selections for the Supreme Court.
I get the feeling that a few in Congress may be being blackmailed

Sitting on our thumbs waiting for a change of heart from Snowe, Collins, McCain, Hagel, Spector, and Chafee will be a loss cause. We know they are liberals and begging for a change back to the Republican cause is hopeless. These brain dead Republicans will just drag us down. Dump them from the party would be the best thing and would let the voters in each state know they were duped.

It sounds like they've got something big on him. Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll finally crack. I'm getting that same feeling .. Reid's behavior lately has been totally off the wall and outragous
Something Big is going on behind the scenes

It's been a long time in coming, but our side really needs to get on the ball and mark some of the left's leaders and agents for political destruction. Ruin their careers, their marriages, their children's careers - whatever it takes.
The other side is emboldened because they are seldom, if ever, held accountable for their antics. That has served as a tacit encouragement of their tactics.
It's about time their side took some (figurative) hits.

There is no suspense to the nuclear option vote, we have no chance of getting 50 votes to get bush's judges approved. Frist needs to do it anyway to get their "NO" votes on record and out for all the American people to see.
Then the electorate can decide at the next election which party they want leading this country.
If Frist wimps out, there will be hell to pay with furious conservatives. If Rinos ruin bushes nominees then it's in their laps, and the people will not hold the right responsible, just the Rinos.

I think Reid may be a bigger idiot than Tommy Boy Daschound.
These Dims are cruising for a bruising.
Most have become trouble makers instead of law makers.

Hmmmm? That seems like a mighty interesting conflict of interest there for Dingy Harry.
And .. since Levin is on the judiciary committee .. that appears to be where Dingy Harry is getting his FBI info. Which means that Levin is revealing FBI info when he's not supposed to .. but then when do the dems ever obey the law ..??
