Lucas has been subtly doing this for years, IMO.

So are the freepers who wanted to boycott Kingdom of Heaven now going to call for a boycott of Star Wars? laugh.

"'So this is how liberty dies-to thunderous applause.'"
I might be wrong but isn't that a Roman quote, I am thinking Cicero or maybe Cato the Younger or maybe later in History.
Seems like I heard it before now.

The evil character "Nute Gunray" in Ep I was a slap both at Gingrich and Reagan.

Medved.
Lucas.
Gives "inconsequential' new dimensions.

The Democrat Party has permanent "Peter Pan" syndrome. They never grew up, and they don't WANT to grow up.

I think Medved should lay off the movie popcorn.

Frankly, this is a tempest in a teapot imho. Star Wars is great entertainment, and the parallels between Sith Lords and George W. Bush exist only in the minds of those already convinced Bush is evil.
The fact of the matter is that Bush isn't a dictator, robbing people of liberty. Anyone with half a brain--hell, a quarter of a brain--can understand what he's doing is protecting liberty.
Of course I wouldn't expect the Hollywood elitists or the LameStream Press to recognize it--they've been running 'round in self-applauding circles for years. But generally, I believe, the average American gets it.
So I intend to enjoy Star Wars and the story it tells.

'Only a Sith Lord deals in absolutes,' after Hayden Chirstensen's Ankin Skywalker/Darth Vader character says, 'If you're not with me, you're my enemy,' Could also apply to a certain cave dwelling raghead with a propensity to kill us en masse.

If you think there is a vast left-wing conspiracy, you are bound to find it. Its just that when you are looking for aliens/black helicopters/etc, they become apparent everywhere! Not that that means that they exist. Its a movie! If Lucas wanted to, he has enough money to make 100 Fahrenheit 9/11 sequels. Why would he screw with Star Wars?

What the hey. Star Wars is just like the Harry Potter films to me. They are all boring beyond words.

I don't think I've ever seen more than a few minutes of ANY Star Wars movie. While I enjoy movies (I've got nearly 100 of them on my netflix queue), this stuff has never been my "bag." I guess it will continue to be that way.

It could just as easily be an anti-Christian dig. Jesus said, "He who is not for me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters."
But seriously, folks, who cares what George Lucas thinks?

I always thought it odd that Queen Amidala was elected. Then the line in Attack of the Clones where she was releived that her time as Queen was limited to two terms and then she became a senator kind of reminded me of someone.

'If you're not with me, you're my enemy'
'Only a Sith Lord deals in absolutes'
So in another words if someone wants to lock up a child killer, and someone wants him to run amok so he can kill some more like liberals often do, the guy who wants to lock him up is a Sith Lord.

Oh, get over yourself and enjoy the movie. News must be slow..
