He might need antibiotics and pain meds. So it makes sense to me. I don't want him to have any medicine, but they would want him to have some.

Also, think Arafat and large infusions of cash for this group. Enemies of Western Civilization are pouring the campaign funds at Zarqawi and his team. Journalists and very wealthy people are doing what they can to keep him rolling.
It wouldn't surprise experts if Z is operating as a journalist some days and hiding with the wealthiest locals on others; probably dressed as an old women. Only those with cash are moving unhindered with donations pouring in from around the world.
