What becomes a legend most?
For JANE FONDA, it turns out to be the rote romantic farce "Monster-in-Law" a cannily selected vehicle that's more than funny enough to RELAUNCH her as a MAJOR MOVIE STAR after a 15-year layoff.
Fonda is a hoot and a half as Viola, a Barbara Walters-esque TV diva who schemes to separate her son from his fiancée, Charlie. (Jennifer Lopez)
Monster-in-Law" is first and foremost a TRIMUPHIANT COMEBACK for Fonda, whose acting chops complement a presence that puts most of today's stars to shame.

Jane YAWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The original (" Heart and soul of american type") . JohnKerry moment ,,, sorry .. .. ..
Type casted Jane/Monster, how fitting.
Ebert and Roeper trashed it this morning on TV.
Jane Fonda: The Commie StepMonster. Coming soon to a war near you.
Dear Hanoi Jane,
You are still a traitor. We will never forget.
Sincerely,
American Veterans and Patriots
Exactly, Lets see Hollyweird make a movie showing the traitor as the real monster she is.
Monster-In-Law; no way, I like my movies to provide a break from reality. This one belongs in the straight-to-DVD-junk-bin catagory. Oh yeah, and Jane Fonda is in it - and about 20 years too old for her part. (maybe it will do well in Vietnam)
I guess she had to go back to work because the divorce settlement wasn't enough to live on.
I saw a review that gave this movie only 1 1/2 stars
J-Lo should go after her agent with both hands! How could he have let her co-star in a movie with box office poison?
Joe Morgenstern who does movie reviews in the weekend section of the WSJ calls Jane Fonda's performance strained and painful to watch. Opinions are like assh**** everybody has one ...
Just saw the thing tonight. My girlfriend insisted, and it is most assuredly a chick flick. There are some good laughs, but the story and the lines in it are like they were taken from a barrel of cliches.
Fonda looks quite old. Homosexuality gets another cameo shot. J-Lo was very funny. The movie was a lot of laughs.
.
Sorry Jane. Wouldn't watch it on tv for free---much less pay money to see it.
Jane Fonda=traitor, has-been, traitor, PC puke, traitor--you get the picture.
vaudine
BOYCOTT HOLLYWEIRD!
You don't have any second thoughts about supporting a Jane Fonda movie??
