The employers know who they are hiring make no mistake. They should be prosecuted & jailed. But who is going to investigate and prosecute them? The INS?
They pay the illegals slave labor wages depressing wage rates in our local economies. I see this at local construction sites all the time. I see them get injured but fear job loss if they tell anyone.
Bush is kowtowing to the small business owner providing a dirt cheap labor force. It's all about money.

I agree. if an employer hires somebody he is responsible.
Otherwise there is an incentive to hire illegals and not have to keep the workplace safe since they aren't covered if they get injured.

I have started thinking that with the republicans and democrats in bed with each other, the only way to effect illegal immigration is to hit Mexico.
Somebody needs to figure out approximately how much money Mexico is making from illegals, and arrange a boycott on Mexican products to twice that amount.
The Mexicans would have armed guards on the border stopping the illegals in 2 weeks.

why should WE obey the laws, if the government won't obey them. The FEDERAL government in rebellion against us. If the ICE and the ATF swapped agents, all of the illegal aliens in America would be arrested, deported or shot dead in one month, and we could shoot machineguns in our yards with no paperwork and no problems.

I don't think any "bill" we send Mexico would be paid.
I do know that the number one income to Mexico Government is no longer OIL it is the money sent back to Mexico by the Mexicans, legal and illegal is.
Why wouldn't they continue to blast us for wanting the border to be protected. Also why shouldn't they continue to help the illegals come here?

Prior to the Minute Men Project getting underway, Cochise County, AZ officials were quite busy having meetings on how to handle the "vigilantes". You would think that a county on the US/Mexican border would be enthusiastic & supportive.
Nothing could be farther from the truth when the MMP arrived. Talk of "fining" a local bible college for harboring MMP volunteers permeated the air. All the Winnebegos, Jeeps and other vehicles must have missed the big welcome mat that local county officials had out for the volunteers.
I really doubt any county would persue these "employers of illegals".

Send them a bill? No, they wouldn't pay it.
But according to:
http://www.usembassy-mexico.gov/eataglance1.htm
Trade in 2003
Mexico-U.S. trade (Imports-Imports): $243,760 billion*
(Census Bureau)
Total Mexican Exports: $165,335 billion
(***S.H.C.P.)
Mexican Exports to the U.S.: $146,802.7 billion (88.79%)
(S.E.)
Mexican Trade Balance: $-5,622 billion
(S.H.C.P.)
So we take 88.79% of their exports. If we figured that Illegals are costing us X amount, and had a boycott of Mexican products that attempted to effect 2X of their exports (our imports from Mexico), they would feel the pain and close the border for us to get it to stop. We are their #1 imported... and they need us more that we need them. The worst thing that would happen to us is we _might_ have to buy made in America for a while.
And it would work too. American boycott of French products have had a disastrous effect of _their_ economy. All we would be asking for is to not be invaded.

We don't need a new convention , we need to enforce the constitution we have. Give the state's their rights back, and get the federal supreme court out of the state courts. The federal govt(including the supreme court) mocks the Constitution, the states, and American citizenship.
Americans need to wake up to the fact this isn't a democrat v. republican crisis, its about the federal govt exceeding its powers for too many years.
Why are we penalized in our own country for being citizens?

The last time that was attempted, there was a civil war.
the feds won. It's time we get over it, our constitution is just a conversation piece.

The trouble with the imbalance in trade much of our trade deficit with Mexico is oil! So how do we not buy oil from them? I'm all for it but how?
Further more China is trying to negotiate with Mexico, Argentina, and along with Iran is ,I think, is starting to bankroll some of Cuba's efforts to get into new industries.
