Another automotive entrepreneur plans to import Chinese cars to the United States.
The Geeley Solo is a small, well-equipped sedan that is expected to sell for $6,995.
David Shelburg, whose background includes work for Toledo, Ohio-based Jeep, expects to begin selling cars and trucks made by Chinese automakers Geeley, Baoding Great Wall Automobile Holding Company Ltd. and Zhongxing Automobile Company Ltd., as early as December.

Thx for the info. i will but hitachi/IBM's next time!
The car prices will have to compensate for the $5 /gal. gas....
I also recommend the Samsung drives. They're very good, and I recommend them over Maxtor and Seagate. They're not the fastest, but they are reliable and competitively priced.
What is your problem with Capitalism..
The problem with these is: WHERE can you drive/ride them ??
Here in TX you wouldn't live more than 10 minutes..... unfortunately.
HERE is a chance to make a difference.
Buy American, buy Japanese, but DON'T buy Chinese.
I fully expect the Geeley to get blown off the Mackinaw Bridge during a November gale, and there's no Geeley safety net under the bridge.
When the Yugo got flipped off into the straits, it didn't do much for Yugo sales.
I'd go ahead and buy stock in the toy car, but when you hear one is heading for the Mackinaw Bridge in November, sell short in a big way.
Good luck.
The Geely is likely going to weigh more than a Ford Focus and will be as aerodynamic. Haven't heard of any Ford products going off that bridge lately, have you?
Yes, they're made in china. I've seen pictures of the plant and cars coming off the line. Also these cars have the same reliability and quality of any car that would go for $6k+ no matter what company or where it was made.
Check out their website and take a look at the Europa. It's a beautiful car. I've ridden in it a few times and the heads that turn while you're driving down the road in it are amazing.

Thx for the info...get back to you later!!!
Great idea prisoner6.
I think exemption from all the various taxes the gov puts on vehicles should be omitted from use on these types of vehicles. But that isn't going to happen.
That would be gov't getting smaller, which is a pipe dream anymore.
Looks OK to me. Now surf to www.chang-jiang.com and see what today's Chinese motorcycles look like.
