Dated March 11, 2005 and in response/remembrance of the Mardid Spain bombings.

I wasn't aware of the fatwa, not that I am impressed. It wasn't in response to terrorist acts against Americans, but Spaniards -- and I am sure that the fatwa was issued to appease those that for the past year have been vocal that Spain pulling their troops was for naught. But hey.....I guess it's a start.

snippet:The response to the Spanish fatwa was dominated by Muslims outside the Middle East, suggesting most moderates live outside traditional Muslim areas.

What a shocker.

snippet:A group calling itself al Qaeda in Iraq -- the name Jordanian-born militant Abu Musab Zarqawi gave his organization after he aligned himself with bin Laden -- mocked it in the familiar religious rhetoric. "Allah has promised us victory," it said in a posting on its Internet Web site. "... Terrorizing enemies of God is our faith and religion, which is taught to us by our Koran."

These people denounce terror in english to appease the tree huggers and then praise terrorism in arabic. They don't fool me.
