Repeal the 24th!

Thanks for the link to the 24th amendment.

Truth was, I thought it was an amendment, wasn’t sure, was about to check it, but was short of time and running out the door, so I added the qualifier to my post “And if it is unconstitutional…” – the old “sun was in my eyes, my shoelaces were untied, my tux was in the cleaners” defense of my ignorance.

Found it interesting that the 24th amendment was ratified in 1964.

Thanks for your input, your phrase “citizenship in and of itself is sufficient for the franchise” has led me to reconsider a bit the ramifications of a “taxpayers only” society.

I thought about it a bit more and came to the conclusion that I need to think about it a bit more.

In retrospect my post was more a gut reaction to being irritated by people sitting down at my dinner table, ordering whatever they want from the menu, stuffing their face and then sticking me with the bill.
