Rancho Man Accused of Vandalizing Own House
May 10, 2005
RANCHO CORDOVA -- When FOX40 News arrived at his Rancho Cordova house on Pecan Grove Way today, we found him spray painting over his own work. Apparently, the man known as 'Ty', had written phrases like "Ty take care of your own house!", which was directed at neighbors who asked Ty to mow his lawn and paint his house.
"He had written Bin Laden Must die and bad men must die, and we consider that a threat," says Randy Housewright of the Home Owner's Association.
"Just a joke," says 'Ty'. "The house is getting remodeled." Then the mystery homeowner, took his paint and his chain saw across the street to his other house.
Amidst the giggles, neighbors were legitimately concerned last night. "We have a homeowner here who is destroying the neighborhood by destroying his property ," says neighbor George Rawle.
People living in both houses tell us the owner Ty, is a kind-hearted, Christian man who allows people with medical problems to live here for free. Neighbors call it a halfway house.
That's really too bad. As I said, you get a better response from people if you treat them in a way you'd like to be treated. One day you are going to step on the wrong person's toes and We'll be reading about what they did to you in the papers.
What do you have against well kept lawns?
Absolutely nothing at all, in fact my many acres of it are better kept than most golf courses. But I don't go telling everyone else how to keep theirs. If they have brown spots or it's too long for my liking, I really don't care. It's only grass, and it's not my worry or business. Long grass does not devalue a neighborhood even if you live in those 50x100 foot development lots.
I completely understand your point of view. But surely you would agree that as the grass overlord it is my worry and my business.
You're the one who appointed me grass overlord. All I did was gleefully accept the position.
LOL! Nice work,Sy! Fun thread.
Thanks, I was beginning to think only I had noticed.
IS THAT A DANDELION.....IN YOUR YARD??!!! < /neidemeyer >
Clover is the worst. Anyone who cannot eradicate clover from their lawn should be fined by the city.
I'm not sure if that green stuff in my yard actually contains any grass
LOL! I've been steadily losing a war against clover for the last three years. It did creep over from my neighbor's yard, but he is a professional landscaper, so what're you going to do?
Well put! I hope you didn't loose the farm.
