ATLANTA Runaway bride Jennifer Wilbanks, whose three-day disappearance led to a nationwide search and more than a week of tabloid headlines, has entered a medical treatment program.
The location of the program and its likely duration were not disclosed.
Wilbanks "entered a highly regarded, inpatient treatment program on her own volition to address physical and mental issues that, she believes, played a major role in her 'running from herself,' as she described in a public statement last week," family spokesman Sammy Smith wrote in an e-mail.
Wilbanks initially told investigators that she had been abducted, a story that quickly unraveled once she surfaced in Albuquerque, N.M.
The 34-year-old bride-to-be has said that she did not flee from her 600-guest wedding because of cold feet, but rather due to "a host of compelling issues, which seemed out of control."
Meanwhile, the father of Wilbanks' fiance thanked the city of Duluth, of which he was once mayor, for its time and effort spent looking for Wilbanks when she vanished four days before the wedding.

Many of the reported situations surrounding her case are consistent amongst fallen Christians who remain in church as a social structure, revert to either legalism or lasciviousness, then ping pong back and forth in a frantic search for happiness.
Much of that misery is self induced by thinking about things from the perspective of self, rather than by first resting in faith in God in all things and thinking.
When reality bumps into wrong thinking, frustration arises. Where worldly systems don't contradict our wrong thinking, we are easily deluded into following counterfeit systems in search of happiness.
re #39:
I stand corrected, it was the groom, I'd forgotten.
(I still think she has food issues though...)
Ohhh, Mr. Sensitivity. You get an F in PC. Should that be a red F or purple F? I don't want to damage your self esteem.
Couldn't the "15 minutes of fame" be over by now?
Ba da, ba da, ba da, that's all folks.........
Yay! Sean Hannity is talking about it again! LOL!
That's funny. Here eyes do look like L'il Orphan Annies.
hehe
Sure looks like she's tweaking in the photo.
Sean must still be working on the "exclusive interview" with Lil' Miss Runaway.
Eating disorder is my bet
Getting her cold feet warmed up?
Seriously though, with how skinny she is, her bug-eyed look and crazy actions I think she should get her thyroid checked.
If the groom had been the one to run away, he would have been dumped on by the media big time. There are more important things in life that her and her "cold feet."
Put Jennifer behind lock and key in the treatment center or she'll not run away again.
that's probably Hyperthyroidism--either Graves' Disease or, as a nurse, she is taking thyroid hormone replacement for weight control/energy, to which she may have access without a doctor's prescription. It could trigger a substance treatment program, or an eating disorders clinic stay.
Thank you, Lizavetta, you made my day! LOL!!!
