Philly corruption verdict rattles Jersey landscape (gay ex-gov and associates tie-in)
Star-Ledger ^ | Tuesday, May 10, 2005 | DUNSTAN McNICHOL

Philadelphia's former treasurer and two executives of Cherry Hill- based Commerce Bank were convicted of multiple criminal counts yesterday in a wide-ranging public corruption case with repercussions in New Jersey politics.

After deliberating 19 days, the jury found former city treasurer Cory Kemp and Commerce executives Glenn K. Holck and Stephen M. Umbrell guilty of conspiracy in schemes to steer millions of dollars in city business to Commerce Bank.

.....hours of intercepted phone conversations and volumes of documentation have already caused fallout in New Jersey.

Ronald White, a central figure in the Philadelphia case who died ....while awaiting trial, was a business partner of Robert Feldman, the top political campaign fund-raiser for former Gov. James McGreevey.

Evidence in the case against Kemp included a canceled $25,000 check to White for consulting work at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey during McGreevey's transition in 2001. Discovery of that check and the $75,000 contract it was related to touched off an ongoing investigation into no-bid contracts at the university.

A memo.....included observations from a former J. P. Morgan executive on the New Jersey political landscape during the early months of McGreevey's tenure. Charles LeCroy reported to colleagues that White had a politically potent "team" in place to win New Jersey business from McGreevey. The team, according to LeCroy, included Feldman and former New Jersey state Sen. John Lynch (D-Middlesex), a mentor of McGreevey's.

The memo said George Norcross III, a Commerce executive and a prominent McGreevey backer in South Jersey, "apparently steamrolled the administration on this one....."

......also included testimony that officers of Investment Management Advisory Group, Pottstown, Pa. that won $4.4 million in no-bid work from McGreevey's administration, had given Kemp limousine rides and (NBA) suite tickets.....at White's direction.

The list of Dumbocrat corruption attached to gay ex-gov McGreevey is long, and revolting.

As we recall, convicted felon Charles Kushner, the billionaire real estate mogul, McG's top donor, and contributor to the Clintons and the DNC, was sentenced on March 4 to two years in federal prison for his convictions on charges of assisting in the filing of false tax returns, and making false statements to the Federal Election Commission.

Kushner is also serving time for retaliating against a cooperating witness, for setting up his BIL in a videotaped sex assignation Kushner had arranged with a prostitute, and had actually mailed the tape to his own sister to intimidate the two, who were federal witnesses against Kushner.

Kushner is infamous as the wealthy benefactor of high-profile Dumbocrats, including the Clintons. He donated millions to the Democratic party and was the largest single contributor to gay gov McGreevey, who was forced out of office b/c of massive corruption and his activities with gay blade Golan Cipel.

McGay stupidly installed his boyfriend, Cipel, as HomeLandSec advisor......the citizenry later discovered the individual sex-crazed McGay put in charge of their safety could not get security clearance b/c Cipel was not a US citizen.

While Cipel was working for the state's Democrat Party---his first US job in the USA---Kushner sponsored his work permit.

Cipel later threatened to out McG with a sexual harassment lawsuit which prompted McGreevey's resignation from office. At the time McG resigned, announcing that he "just found out" he was gay (poster laughs uproariously).

Now get this, Cipel's last work in the USA was a $7500 per month job with Tishman Construction Co, New York. At the same time, McGreevey signed off on on Tishman's bid for a $1.5 billion construction contract for-----surprise----Xanadu.

McGreevy was just fired from his buddy's legal firm that was doing work on Xanadu. Apparently, every job slimeball McGreevey is connected with, from hereonin, has a huge red CORRUPT sign attached to it.

I just wish another bank had a branch near my house, my office in NYC, banking hours on Sunday, nice on-line banking interface and a change machine the kids like.

Arrrgh.

Have you noticed what a low, really under-the-radar profile Corzine has taken the last two months. Nary a peep, except for blogging on Arianna's new site..(g) He was always out there on all the news and talk shows..now he's deep in the bunker..very curious.

Please note the Star Ledger is a Newark (North Jersey) paper which no one sees in Norcross's South Jersey power base. My relatives in North Jersey know all about Norcross and the things he has done in South Jersey. In South Jersey, the Philadelphia Inquirer and Courier Post are not going in depth on this.

I've dealt with the local politics and the local papers for years. Things are happening over those years that ought to be legitimate news stories and are never touched (no matter how hard we try). There is a news blackout. Try this one: A community leader goes to the newspaper and tells them what transpired in meetings with township officials. The "reporter's" answer? "We can't print that, it's hearsay." This goes on all the time.

Call the papers with a story about the local dems, Norcross, the NJ Attorney General's office - and the most likely response is the reporter assigned will never call you back.

Corzine's got plenty to hide, from all accounts.

His tenure at Goldman Sachs is under a heavy cloud of illegal profiteering....through which he bought his Senate office for $65M.

He and convicted felon Kushner---of videoed sex-for-hire fame--- were partners in a losing scheme to buy the Nets.

And Corzine's face is well-remembered in TV reports alongside McGreevey, abetting the Toricelli Shuffle to get Lautenberg into the Senate against election laws.

Corzine was also a client of non-Jerseyan----Regena Thomas---who is under fire for abandoning her job as McG's appointeee to Secy of State, who worked for Kerry while pocketing a state paycheck.

Corzine is on-record as saying McGreevey was the "best governor that ever lived."

Enough?
