E-mail just sent to the Governor:
Dear Gov. Perry,
Our Republican brethren in the Texas House have apparently abandoned the party platform and have chosen to extract new taxes, more taxes and higher taxes from the people of Texas. HB3 is NOT tax reform; it is a massive tax increase.
I again urge you to veto this bill if it should survive in the Senate. It is a job-killer and a potential economic disaster for our State.
Please, don't make me vote for Kinky Friedman.

My email was as follows: Honorable Governor Perry, I am writing to voice my displeasure with our State Legislature and the passage of the Tax Reform Bill, also known as HB 3. The citizens of Texas do not need and do not want a payroll tax, a state income tax, or any variation of such. Let's not be fooled by a reduction in property taxes when it would result in a state income tax. Then in the following years, the property taxes would quickly return to current levels. One of the big attractions of Texas, is it's low taxes. If we raise taxes, the Texas economy will suffer. There would be no incentive for a business (or people) to move from New Jersey. The people of Texas do not vote for Republicans in order to see their taxes raised. We would vote Democrat if we wanted that. Thank you for your time.
