No. You aren't. These a$$bats are really pushing their friggin' luck.
Good thing that the State Legislature only meets once every two years.
Imagine the damage those crap b@stards would do if they were down there full time!
YIKES!
There are two many lawyers in Austin. We need to send business minded republicans down there next time.
Primary time is not that far off.
Not sure about Estes either.
I am about to call Senator Harris' office and see what his stance will be.
Gonna ask him to push an ammendment to remove the payroll tax at least.
Gonna call Jane and ask her to do the same.
Thanks for the ping. Aux Barricades!
bump!
Call made from both of us to Shapeiro. Let's hope she gets the clue...
Thanks for the ping, will be on the phone ASAP
Here is a PDF link to the article...via the great folks at the Texas Public Policy foundation.
They are the Texas version of the Heritage Foundation.
http://www.texaspolicy.com/pdf/2005-05-10-WSJ-taxes.pdf
Also, there web site is
www.texaspolicy.com
www.texasinsider.org is another good one.
Thank you. :)
Having trouble with my Acrobat Reader or something.
can we throw out Perry next? I know it is eating one of our own, but the RINO has to go.
Thanks! :o)
I finally posted the article, but had to chop it up and do an excerpt.
Actually....it was Perry who zeroed out the budget when he took office so there would not be a huge dept issue.
And prevented the state legislature from pushing major tax increases.
If you want to go after the RINO who pushed this.....
it seems to be David Dewhurst. Which is a shame.
Perry has been pretty good at being Republican. Far more than others.
The state has gained the prospect of number one state for business under his program for that stuff.
Here is the only part of the article that you need to understand who is the main problem in Austin...
From the article in WSJ-
""Mr. Dewhurst defends his plan by trotting out the kind of class-warfare reasoning normally reserved for Washington.
"What good Texan is going to have heartburn about paying -out of $650,000 - $6,000 to $9,000 to improve the education of our youngsters", he asked last week""
Good grief!Thanks. :)
Thanks for the ping, and I did my email duty. Sheesh, they won't stop with this. I'm already in an extremely bad mood over the notice my appraisal district sent me last week. Seems they've decided my home is worth far more than fair market value for tax purposes. Working on an appeal...
Maybe they are going to use the extra money to hire a coach at UT that can beat Bob Stoops????
Why do that?
All they would have to do is higher a coach from a real conference.
The Big 12 is as over rated as the Senate Leadership.
Twice OU gets sent to a national title game that they have no business being in....twice they lose.
USC kicked the crap out of them. It was just...bad.
OU benefits from ratings that come too early....
And the rest of the lil 12 goes nuts trying to be 2nd runner up.
E Mailed Sen. Tommy Williams just now. Told him the voters expect tax relief, not increases and that those who fail to heed this can stand by to be thrown out of office.
Did Dewhurst say that as an endorsement of a payroll tax?
I know who'll have heartburn about it -- he's going to have heartburn eating all that froggy escargot over in France, which is where he's going to have to move if he busts a backdoor income tax on Texans after they told him
