The website of a Catholic civil rights group was hacked over the weekend, apparently by Islamic extremists.
William Donohue, president of the New York City-based Catholic League, said the breach began yesterday, one day after his comments about the controversial new Hollywood film on the Crusades, "The Kingdom of Heaven," were published in the New York Post.
The unknown hackers replaced the home page with one of their own, featuring a photo of a Palestinian holding a rock in each hand, facing down Israeli soldiers. It included epithets against President Bush and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, called for freedom for "Palestine" and Iraq and sent greetings to Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein.
The site was restored this afternoon.
THE REST OF THE ARTICLE:
In the Post article, Donohue was quoted saying: "It is a matter of historical record that Muslim violence in the form of a jihad was responsible for Christians striking back, hence the Crusades. Yet in the film, it is the Christians who are the bad guys. This is on the order of doing a movie on the Warsaw Ghetto and blaming the Jews for all the violence."
Catholic League spokeswoman Kiera McCaffrey told WorldNetDaily her group does not know who committed the website breach but has contacted New York City police and the FBI.
The hackers' message reads:
PRI[ll was here
F--- BUSH - F--- SHARON
FREE PALESTINE - FREE IRAQ
Morocco RuleZ
Greetz : ALL Palistnian people - Ben_laden - sadam - ch33ta - Mianwalian - mani1 - [code] - nEt^DeViL
& all Moroccan Hackerz
Responding to the hacker's content, Donohue said in a statement, "I really can't stand dealing with illiterates. If these jerks can spell Palestine correctly, why can't they spell Palestinian people correctly? And Im not so sure that bin Laden and Saddam would care to know that their names have been misspelled."
The Catholic League is the nation's largest Catholic civil rights organization, defending "the right of Catholics lay and clergy alike to participate in American public life without defamation or discrimination."
Welcome too "digihad". The buggers stop at nothing.

More like Roaches> :)
The good news is that the movie bombed, making only $20 million its first weekend. It'll probably clear about $50-$70 million, on a production budget of $130 million.
LOL!
Yes , agreed totally. I hope the movie flopping, is and indicator of how many people are really sick and tired of islamic violence, and just not saying anything. I for one find FR to be a breath of fresh air. I had no idea so many people believed as I do. :)

At this rate of earning, it is sure to be Best Picture at the Oscars next year. But only if there's another $600 million blockbuster to which Christians flock. :-)
I checked Box Office Mojo for all the big-budget dramas set in ancient and medieval settings (before 1776), going back to 1992. Notice a pattern?
POLITICALLY CORRECTED or ANTI-CHRISTIAN:
Alexander: $34M gross on $155M production costs
King Arthur: $51 on $120
Troy: $133 on $175
The Messenger: $14 on $85
The 13th Warrior: $32 on $162
Gladiator: $187 on $103
First Knight: $38 on $70
Conquest of Paradise: $7 on $47
Christopher Columbus: The Discovery: $8 on $40
POLITICALLY INCORRECT or CHRISTIANITY-INFORMED:
The Passion of the Christ: $370M gross on $30M production costs
The Return of the King: $377 on $94
The Two Towers: $340 on $94
The Fellowship of the Ring: $377 on $94
Braveheart: $76 on $72
The Patriot: $113 on $110
The Last of the Mohicans: $76 on $40
Note that the only PC one that didn't bomb was "Gladiator." Some found Christian-friendly messages in the film, but I included it as anti-Christian because the historical event upon which it was loosely based was precipitated by Christians, whereas in the movie they are pagans.
I also must note:
Some would include "The Messenger"as being a Christian story, since it was about Joan of Arc. But the movie excised her imposing morality on the French troops (apparently the producer's couldn't stomach Joan being opposed to prostitution), and played St. Joan off as seeming schizophrenic. For this subversion of the Christianity in the original story, I include it as anti-Christian.
Ping to post #9.

"Don't you see? Not the sun in the sky. The son of God!
A few die hard Trek fans will get this one from the days when it was okay to mention Christ in prime time.
Was that the episode that they went too a "Rome" like planet? I can remember the "Sun (Son) of God" line, just not the episode. OMG, does this make me a "Trekkie"? LOL
Jeff
TY for that :)

I'll be overjoyed when the movie "Mohammed" is made, and not the PC, version. But to even make it r rated , much would be watered down, or not shown at all.

Ahh, yes... I remember that episode quite well. :^).
By the way, do you remember whatever became of Spock?
In the last TV episode Gene Roddenberry (sp?) wrote (for "The Next Generation :^b"), Spock was off to become a missionary to the Klingon Federation. It had definite parallels to current reports at the time coming out of China about Christian missionaries there.
Me too. This is the first site I've ever found where the majority of members are conservatives. I really enjoy reading all of the posts.
