I hadn't heard this before. While I think it's a good move, it's also an ominous sign.

I appreciate the time Kelly devotes to participation in this thread. The "ham and eggs" metaphor applies here. Chickens are involved, pigs are committed. This thread is mostly chickens observing with interest. Kelly has a real stake in the effort as a part of her work.

The posts in this thread point to a coming pandemic for which we will not be adequately prepared. The information coming from the various research labs is simply a clarion call from the watchmen. We won't be surprised by the outbreak. Most of us will simply have to weather the consequences of the infection as there is inadequate means of avoidance or treatment.
