There is an internet vandal who defaces Free Republic with very gross pictures (homosexual sex and stuff from rotton.com) as well as posting "ALL YOU F***** N*****S & JEWS SHOULD BE LYNCHED".
He pings a variety of people to his post, ensuring that the trash is still in their My Posts lists.
To me, this isn't the milder form of harassment that Eschoir engaged in so many years ago. The very worst he would do is ask if you ever committed sodomy, and he once used the screen name "Paula Jones Tw*t". This is mild.
What this sick piece of work is doing is much more egregious. I believe it crosses the line into criminal defacement and restraint of trade. Are there any Free Republic lawyers (especially prosecutors) who can address this issue, and are there any private detectives with internet savvy that will help track the identity of this person down?
Ignore buttons are better. I know I could use them.
1. Civil rights infringement. Hate crimes are BS. However, civil rights prosecution are perfectly legit. We could get him for First Ammendment suppression and infringing on the rights of minorities.
2. Cyberstalking. A select group of FRPRs are being targetted by this vile act. I have absolutely no doubt that if this POS could hurt these people directly, he would.
3. Child endangerment. Long shot, but some FRPRs let minors on their sites. If posting this crap on a website meant for minors could get someone prosecuted, and if we could prove that minors are harmed by his action, we can definitely charge his sorry butt on that.
This is just the basics. I'm sure others who are more lawyerminded could come up with more.

More often than not, when someone comes up with a method of doing something, s/he could also come up with a methhod of undooing it. Maybe your friend could help.

You’re dealing with speech. There is no infringement of my civil rights, other than perhaps intimidation, which generally falls under “hate crimes”, whether you care to admit that or not.. There’s no suppression of my 1st amendment rights. It’s a private site, I’ve no inherent right to post, and neither FR nor the racist are preventing my posting. The fact of the matter is he’s not infringing on my rights in any way that would be covered outside the realm of “hate crime” intimidation.

Some states have cyberstalking laws, which generally fall under the category of hate crimes legislation. That makes sense, because if there are hate crimes, this is one, if they shouldn’t be legislated against, there’s no harm here, no certainly a foul. Harm is a longstanding exception to 1st amendment freedoms. If his threats specific and credible, or if a reader acts on them, he’s crossed the line. However what you have no doubt of is irrelevant. It’s the judge or jury, and particularly the prosecutor who reviews it before that. IMO there’s nothing here.

IMO that is a long shot. Approach it from that perspective and you also have to consider FRs obligation to protect minors from what’s posted here.
Outside of the realm of “hate crimes” legislation, which I’m generally opposed to, there’s no crime here, other than the threats. From a civil perspective, I’m sure there are a lot of options.
Show me a thread where a disrupter is ignored and I'll give $50.00 to your favorite charity. Most even have people pinged to them. Ignoring a disruptro is never done on this site.

These pics are a big thing at rotten.com as some FRPRs have pointed out. Rotten is an ultra left site with one section devoted to the Abu Grab@$$ "massacre". Whoever is doing this has intimate knowledge of that site.
But there are other sites like rott. R is just the most well known one.
