Well not directly... but I did get called unpatriotic and stupid for suggesting that 17 year olds should know not to curse at teachers and that it is not a violation of human rights to have rules about cell phones... The I was asked if I worked for the school board. Does that count?
I am certainly not on the "school's side" on this but I do understand a need for rules and order in a school, together with flexability and compassion, not in place of.

I happen to be a school teacher myself, but given the details as I am aware of them, the teacher could have handled this without having a confrontation.
If I had been in her situation after finding out that the call was from his mother, I would have remained by his side until the call was completed.
