I like Bandini.
He seems to be coming into his own and has Derby winners close up being by a Kentucky Derby winning son of Mr Prospector (my favorite Derby sire), along with that other great... Seattle Slew, plus Dixieland Band and Coastal close up.
Seattle Slew is a favorite of mine too.
I felt a personal connection to him as a kid, thinking that because I live near Seattle, I had a relation to him. And I am glad his story played out so wonderfully. I remember when he died, on derby day 2002 at age 28, and bawled at the sight of his final days, stumbling and sometimes falling due to a degenerative back ailment. But he lived and died in great care, and I am always happy to hear that.
