| Shocking Photos Show Nurses Abusing Infants |
||
| Korea's active netizens are outraged about shocking pictures posted on a website that show nurses treating newborn children like toys in an obstetrics and gynecology hospital. A nurse identifying herself as Lee, 24, posted on her homepage on Cyworld about 20 photos of women who look like nurses appearing to treat newborn children like objects. Pictures show a nurse squeezing a newborn's face with her fingers, putting heart-shaped paper on a newborn's cheeks, and apparently placing a newborn in a plastic bag. They also include off-color images of two newborns posed as if they were kissing, holding wooden chopsticks in their mouth and cups of instant noodles on their chest, or newborns wearing doctors' caps and holding needles. There are also shots of nurses holding puppies or carrying puppies in their pockets inside the hospital.
Word of the photos spread as Internet users discovered the pictures on Lee's homepage and then uploaded them to other websites. Lee's Cyworld homepage is currently shut down. Lee said she worked in an obstetrics and gynecology hospital in Daegu but quit last month and has since gone underground. "It seems my photos have caused some misunderstanding, so I'm quite frightened and scared. I didn't upload those photos with the intention you believe I had," she wrote on her homepage. "I'm sorry. I bow my head and ask forgiveness." Netizens are up in arms, with several websites flooded with complaints about the pictures. Police with Daegu's Dongbu Police Station have obtained the photos and are analyzing them to determine whether acts of child abuse took place. Thery are also trying to track down Lee. The Daegu Association of Nurses and other groups are also preparing to find out exactly what took place. |
I think that these nurses are more reviled than Kim Jong-il by many. Many are just really infantile. They do not know how to handle real serious matters. To them, those matters feel so old, stuffy, and so yesterday. However, they are in their 20's and 30's, having a real job and making political decisions, which frighten me. It is not that they act infantile during their off-hours. They are infantile throgh and through. I can say this because I know how the older generation was like when they were young and how Americans of the same age are like. I have a good frame of reference.
The old despicable hardcore lefties prey on them, turning them into their drones with their seductive rhetoric. These young folks have to grow up seriously. It appears that they will have a crash course coming very soon, thanks to Kim Jong-il.
Ping!
Tell you the truth...I thought some of them were funny and most quite harmless!
I can't identify with your thoughts.
If it were my baby being abused, I would seek her out.
The North Korea question is irrelevant to this abuse.
Yeah, they can be distasteful, but I do not see them as capital offenses either.
Yeah, if it is your baby, it is understandable. However, why millions are going haywire, and these pictures popping up on a major news article.
Surely death and misery on a far greater scale must get the equal exposure. After all, they are happening only 50km(30miles) away.
A few years back our local paper printed a letter to the editor from some idiot woman. She was complaining about a photograph of a naked baby on a billboard. She wasn't worried about the nudity, she was worried because the temperatures at the time were below freezing and the photo might cause people to think that it was OK to have naked babies out in the cold.
Probably just a snack for later.
"People can go absolutely ballistic over things like this."
Well, look at how they get over some cold footed woman who takes a powder from her wedding, they want blood!
I'd like to know for sure before i say anything. How do we know the pictures are real, as maybe i misunderstood the article, i read the person that posted them didn't take them, the person just posted the pictures, and everybody got ahold of copies and then now they are looking for the person that supposedly posted them......I'd like to hear it straight from the person that took these pictures to make sure they weren't "photoshop". I do believe alot of child abuse does go on.
Because it COULD be your baby.
That's what patriotism is about.
And the South Koreans have it in abundance; As well does the North.
Why is this matter being lumped with Kim Jong-il? Sorry, but my newborn child is not nurse's plaything. Lucky they weren't messing with my kid because I'd take a 2x4 to them.
Bill Cosby used to tell a joke about pinching his newborn daughters nose and blowing hard into her mouth in an attempt to turn her into a boy.
Are you sure that you replied to the right person? I just made a smart@ss comment about the puppies in the pics.
There are many kind of offense. You cannot kill a man for stealing your motobike. You do not feature him as a major news in all big papers, either. The reaction I saw make me feel as if all babies were either abducted or seriously injured, or even dead. It is out of proportion.
This is why these people absolutely freeze and become paralyzed when the real terrible thing occurs. They cannot cope. So they ignore, which can be lethal in most cases.
Why?
Why? What can you kill a man for stealing for?
Sorry, I wasn't talking about your comment, i was just adding to the thread in general. :)
Is there any problem comparing Kim Jong-il's brutality with nurses behavior? Do you think that you could let 2000 starving men die just to get this stupid girl, who, even if convicted, serve at most a few months in jail.
There are many occasion you feel you want to hit somebody with 2x4. The chances are that they did not even commit any offense which lend him to jail.
Oh gosh, he better not try that nowadays! Funny, though.
