MIAMI - The family of a severely brain-damaged woman who died after her feeding tube was removed in March said Friday they still have not been told where her remains will be laid to rest.
Terri Schiavo's parents and siblings, who waged a lengthy court battle over her end-of-life wishes, said on Fox's "Hannity & Colmes" show that her husband is keeping her remains from them.
"They were supposed to tell us, and we still have not heard from ... Michael Schiavo where Terri's been laid," said Terri Schiavo's brother, Bobby Schindler. "Our family expected this. Michael has disobeyed court orders throughout the ordeal and continues to do so today."
Michael Schiavo is under court order to notify the Schindlers of his plans for a memorial service. He has had his wife cremated and has said her ashes would be buried at a family plot in Pennsylvania.
George Felos, Michael Schiavo's attorney, did not immediately return a call Friday night seeking comment.
Terri Schiavo, 41, died March 31 in a Pinellas Park hospice, 13 days after her feeding tube was removed by court order. She suffered brain damage in 1990 after a chemical imbalance caused her heart to stop.
She left no written instructions in the event she became disabled, and her husband said she never would have wanted to be kept alive in what court-appointed doctors called a persistent vegetative state with no hope of recovery.
The Schindlers, however, doubted she had any such end-of-life wishes. They maintained she would benefit from rehabilitation, despite most doctors saying her condition was irreversible
He did a great job with the Moxley case. I look forward to reading the book & finding out what made her collapse.
Terri held a mirror up to us all. The mirror asks: Are you fool enough to believe her scumbag husband on anything? I don't trust scumbags to tell the truth. What you need is a --->
Who you are going to invite to Thanksgiving is a private family matter.
Having an inconvenient wife executed by the state is not.
He doesn't get to make that call. He is under a court order to tell them where she is buried. All the people who were screaming about following the law in this matter grow silent. Schiavo's just rubbing salt in the wound now.
And how come Felos, who never saw a news camera he didn't love, was suddenly unavailable for comment. Too busy meditating, I guess.
""the terri fight" was toxic here, and served no purpose."
No, far from being toxic it proved useful in separating true-believing conservatives willing to fight with any means necessary for the right cause from "talk talk" conservative wannabees who tended to side with Michael Schiavo. Personally, if I ever found where MS buried TS' ashes, I'd be tempted to dig them up and return them to her parents. Even if I were caught, it would be a misdemeanor. BFD!
I think Mark is onto something. He doesn't waste his time investigating cases he can't expose to the light of day. Go for it Mark! He has a fine rep with his brother officers who will tell him things others won't. Same for people in the court system who have the inside track on Pinellas County shenanigans. Be very afraid punk Greer. You too deathboy Felos. Mikey will also be exposed.
Perhaps he doesn't want a Dianah Shrine over her grave.
He is under Court to notify the family
But from what I can tell, Michael Schiavo has made no plans of a memorial for Terry as of yet
He could have a Memorial for her a month from now, a year from now or ten years from now
He is not under a court order as to WHEN he has to have a memorial and lay her ashes to rest
"He is not under a court order as to WHEN he has to have a memorial and lay her ashes to rest"
Michael Schiavo probably never had any real love for Terri. He probably flushed her ashes down the commode as soon as he took them home.
We dodged a bullet but Terri didn't.
For the same reason the Jesus Freaks go bizerk and complain about every episode of every show on TV instead of changing the channel or turning off the set.
I agree. Michael Schiavo was the first man to pay attention to her after she lost a great deal of weight. The pressure to stay at that weight apprarently led her to make dangerous and ultimately lethal choices. Nevertheless, her husband made a new life, good for him, so why the need to end Terris?
And neither should the national government be either. But hey, that's just an old Federalist view of the powers of the separate and sovereign states. Let's just throw that out and listen to a faux conservative like Krauthammer.
I thought this was the real news. mark Furhman spent a month on the ground and is writing a book on what really happened to Terri the night she collapsed. This is appropriate, as it seems that the police blew this off when they should have investigated. Apparently Hannity called him and pointed out discrepancies. In my opinion, the Florida courts were being irresponsible to let this case become an international scandal and should have seen to it that the evidence was completely and fairly evaluated by fair process that would have satisfied everyone as to due process. That is their job.

Maybe he thought it would end his inner-guilt. If he can even feel anything.
Krauthammer is a faux Conservative? Then Peggy Noonan, Mark Steyn, Fred Barnes, Tom DeLay, Jeb Bush, President Bush, etc. must be "faux" as well. Which leaves, who exactly, to be the "real" Conservatives? Noonan btw way, was Conservative enough for President Reagan...
I agree he is a POS
But he won't defy a Court Order and he won't flushed her ashes down the commode
