LESSON IN POLITICS: Reid calls president 'loser' (More Rat Extreme Partisanship)
Las Vegas Review-Journal ^ | Erin Neff

Posted on 05/06/2005 4:27:42 PM PDT by MikeA

In the course of a discussion on filibusters and Senate rules, Washington's top Democrat gave the 60 juniors a lesson in partisan politics, particularly about the commander in chief. "The man's father is a wonderful human being," Reid said in response to a question about President Bush's policies. "I think this guy is a loser.

"I think President Bush is doing a bad job," he added to a handful of chuckles.

"He's driving this country into bankruptcy," Reid said, referring to the deficit. "He's got us in this intractable war in Iraq where we now have about 1,600 American soldiers dead and another 15,000 injured."

Republican National Communications Director Brian Jones issued a statement calling the senator's comments "a sad development but not surprising from the leader of a party devoid of optimism, ideas or solutions to the issues people care about most."

After the statement was released, Reid phoned the Review-Journal to acknowledge he thought he crossed the line.

"You know the president is in Europe, probably sleeping," Reid said in an interview this afternoon. "But I called (Karl) Rove and apologized for what I said."

He apologized to Karl Rove? He better pick up the phone and apologize to the president!

This is an outrage, but the bigger outrage will be when the media doesn't give this utterly indecent comment 2 seconds notice. Instead they'll continue to report on what Delay said about judges.

Can you imagine if Trent Lott had called Clinton a loser while Clinton was president and Lott GOP Majority Leader in the 90s? Mind you Lott would have been fully justified calling Clinton that because he most certainly was, but the media would have crucified him, just like it crucified Gingrich any time he merely showed just passion in talking on an issue.

I think more than just an apology is required of Harry Reid for his ugly, hateful, spiteful, extremist partisan remarks. I think he needs to pledge to take an anger management class and to provide the president and the American people an open letter of apology. And Reid needs to pledge to work to put a stop to the out-of-control partisanship gripping the Democratic party that leads to these kind of angry, intemperate remark.

Harry Reid fell victim to what the shrinks call "projection".

His Party just got their butts kicked by the alleged "loser" while his wonderful father managed to lose his bid for re-election.

As with everything with the Rats the world is upside down.

I don't know, I'm worried. Reid knows a loser when he sees one, what with shaving every morning and all.

Everytime Dems. call Bush dumb or in this case "loser," I always think what does it say about Democrats that they keep losing to a "dumb guy" and a "loser?"

The truth is that he's about as reasonable a Democrat as you'll find. That's why he's their leader.

This is just another Democrat falling in lockstep with moveon.org and George Soros. The lack of civility and
disgusting cheap shots taken by moveon.org is over the top all the time. This was bolstered by Kerry and his wife and Edwards when they attended the garbage show put on by Whoopy Goldberg and laughed at her filth about the President of the United States. The stupidy of Senator Reid only makes me send more money to the GOP

Reid's comments are just an expression of frustration for all the years the bigger kids in the neighborhood sat on his head and farted, just for giggles.

Not only should he apologize to W in person, but he should apologize the country.

This is especially so with the president overseas doing the US's work. In this case if not in others, Reid is ALSO undermining the US!

Reid has been morphing into a McAuliffe-like snide urban lib. Can't explain it except maybe his advisers now are of the MoveOn.Org mentality and he's absorbing it.

Minor clarification: Mr. Bush lost only one election that I know of... a U.S. House seat to Kent Hance in Texas (late 70s or early 80s I believe).

Anyway... Reid needs to take a long look in the mirror and he would find the true definition of loser or he could also also reflect on Tom Dashle... now that Mr. Reid is a loser.

Didn't W lose his first election, the one for Congress? Still, a 4-1 record isn't too shabby--especially when 2 of those are for the Presidency. `8^)
