In a letter to the Modesto Bee, Lee Peterson says:
"My son was convicted because he had an affair. He was convicted by a jury full of hatred because of the way Scott was vilified in the media... Scott will be freed through the appellate process in time, mark my words."
Lee Peterson was responding to news reports last week that the Laci Peterson case cost taxpayers $4.1 million dollars.
He is right at least on the second part of this sentence. He was vilified in the media.

This is another non-sequiter, I suppose, but since you mentioned bowels....
I'm a substitute teacher, and today I went into a drama classroom only to find that someone had defecated in the back of the room.
I ping the rest of you only to share the good news about our future leaders. On the other hand, since it was a drama classroom, maybe they were just getting ready to live in Hollywood.
Blinders like this caused Scott to grow up amoral. It's not a good thing.
Unfortunately, the whole truth will include abject jury tampering on the part of the judge, biased reportage by the media, a reaction to other recent 'he-done-it' disappearances centered in Modesto, likewise OJ Simpson, hostile in-laws, a seriously unlovable accused, and public boredom with other news...guilty or not, Peterson did not get a fair trial.
Utter rubbish, especially the part about hostile in-laws and jury tampering by the judge.

I talked to a mother once (chance neighborhood encounter) whose son had recently been killed in a multiple-gunbattle, multiple-high speed chase, three fatality, multiple gang event occuring over several miles of D.C. streets about 3:00 in the morning. The son was part of the gangbanger caravan, not a bystander. But the mother was going on about how her son was such a good boy.
Parents are like that.
Being a teacher is hard, but this is just beyond the pale.
We had a "poo poo bandit" when I was in college, in a girl's dorm {we were girls then and not offended by the term}. I kid you not. Someone left presents all over for months. I was in near hysteria with the comic aspects. Others were offended, deeply offended, especially the House Mother. We had House Mothers too.
Yo Lee, Scott Peterson murdered Laci. The only court proceeding that will prove that it was not your son who killed Laci would be a paternity suit.

Honestly, I didn't know whether to laugh or get mad. Couldn't laugh in front of the kids, so I just kind of...stared in disbelief.
