Per Foxnews Alert!
Looks like Kofi Annan may be going down. Foxnews has obtained video tapes of Kofi Annan and Paul Volcker.
There are inconsistencies in Kofi Annan's statements. In other words...he's been caught red handed!
I was surprised to learn that Jimmy Carter appointed Volcker as Fed Chairman to replace somebody he had to get rid of or who had resigned.
I didn't remember that at all.
I think that the "contempt of Congress" thing was just a convenient cover. I think Parton WANTED an excuse to have to turn over the goods, and so somebody offered him cover. ("Contempt of Congress" is still meaningless, but it sounds good to the aveage chattering-class ignoramus.)
By the way, I happen to believe there is a definite connection between whats going on with Parton and what's going on with the Bolton hearings. The scumbag Democrats are livid about the undermining of the UN (mainly by its many scandals being exposed), and I also happen to think there's a lot more going on beneath the surface.
Former President Jimmy Carter has been linked with a key figure in the U.N.'s oil-for-food scandal by the group leading the nationwide effort to evict the United Nations from American soil and halt U.S. funding of the U.N.
Howard Kaloogian and Co. are calling for this...
Move America Forward today will call upon Carter to provide a full accounting of his meetings and conversations with Samir Vincent, who yesterday pleaded guilty to participating in numerous illegal activities as part of the U.N. scandal.
"President Carter needs to tell the American people exactly what relationships he had with the individuals involved in the oil-for-food scandal," said Melanie Morgan, co-chairman of Move America Forward.
More highlights from this...
"[Carter's son Chip] and his associates have been particularly vicious in their criticisms of President Bush and his Iraq policy, say Move America Forward officials. According to the Ghana News Agency, Chip Carter said President Bush was "bringing back the ugly politics where other people see America as the enemy."
Um, I think the terrorists have already made it clear America is the enemy.
Chip Carter added, "there has to be a regime change" not in Iraq but in America so as to bring an end the Bush administration.
Obviously the majority of his fellow Americans don't agree with the young Carter on this...
Carter went on to note that it was the United Nations that was best able to handle the Iraqi question, and not the United States.
Wonder what his basis is for this...
The Carter Center website features op-eds in which Carter criticizes the Bush administration's decision to use military force in Iraq as well as an interview by Carter and his wife in which he claimed military action against Iraq would be a "tragic mistake." Carter argued in a 2002 interview that the situation should be dealt with by the United Nations Security Council through the issuance of new U.N. Resolutions or the enforcement of existing resolutions.
Been there. Done that.
"Obviously Jimmy Carter didn't understand that it was the United Nations resolutions that authorized the use of force, which is why coalition forces took military action against Iraq. Saddam Hussein was not abiding by the U.N.'s resolutions for 12 years, yet Jimmy Carter pretends not to be aware of this fact," said Morgan.
Jimmy Carter and roughly half the population of the United States.

I found that from googling.
Yep, the involvement of Davis makes me nervous, too. But it is possible that Davis is working on behalf of one Democrat against another Democrat. I foresee a very heated contest for Democrat Presidential nominee in 2008. The gloves are off already.
Kofi is a goner now for sure......and after the fact, he will be laughed at when he tries to say "I'm not the only one".......I think in terms of money, kofi's price was low.....but since he's the Gen Sec, betraying him makes such a loud noise that the real and whole truth of the OFF scandal (MOST of it, anyways) will never be jerked out into the sunlight. Very soon, kofi will be hiding out like the runaway bride, and Volcker and his cronies will quietly be laughing.
You realize 2.5 trill is the entire budget of the United States of America, right? Not just what we give to the UN. Not that it isn't still unspeakably outrageous that the government spends that kind of money every year.
You are correct. It is probably not a good thing to assume that just because someone was a FOB they will automatically be a FOH.
IIRC, Genius Volcker presided over like an 18.00% prime rate or something equally ridiculous.
Thanks!
Me too. Said this yesterday on another thread:
Volker is acting kind of sleazy too if you ask me. I thought he would be above the fray, but I guess not seeing he was appointed by Kofi to do the "independent" investigation. Wonder how much UN money, hence US money, Volker blew on it?
Actually, Reagan and Volker inherited those sky-high rates from jimmah carter.
you will know we are close when Putin flies to Paris to make a joint statement with Chirac demanding an end to this interference in the official O.F.F. investigation by third parties in which they harshly condemn the witch-hunt undertaken by "american republicans...".
Yeah - in my anger I sort of jumped the gun on the amount. Thanks.
I thought I remembered Volcker as being a good guy so I have been slow to criticize him on this, but the questions are mounting as to his involvement and motivation to thoroughly investigate this scandal.
Lanny Davis, LOL!
Now where did I put that Reynolds Wrap?
