This was supposedly a makeup signing from a cancellation od last September due to his heart problems. One article reported that you could make $50-100 on Ebay for a signed copy of his lies. They also reported that he left while 150 or so were still in line. Thirty-Five got previously signed copies and the rest had the option of a refund.

I'm not sure I could stand looking at that goofy smile anymore, so I haven't checked the latest price.

Sounds like a really good Freep! I sure hated to miss it! I'm back on the 'puter tonight, as we have stopped in Mobile on our way to Charleston, followed by Myrtle Beach. This is the first time I've had a hook-up.

Sounds like you had a great comeback for the poor misinformed man, David. In fact, this whole thing sounds like one of the best Freeps the HOT chapter has held. I am really sorry to have had to miss it, but this trip was planned well in advance of the announcement that the Creep was heading our way.

The good news is that we are having a wonderful time exploring SC. There are truly a lot of interesting things to see and do here, and it's a real treat to spend time with my daughter and her family from WY, who decided to vacation here this year. As a special added treat, one SAS board member lives here, and another is visiting, so we are actually getting some SAS work done, too.
