Retired Army Col. David Hackworth, a decorated Vietnam veteran who spoke out against the war and later became a journalist and an advocate for military reform, died Wednesday in Mexico, where he was receiving treatment for bladder cancer, his wife said. He was 74.

"He died in my arms yesterday morning," his wife, Eilhys England, said Thursday.

Hackworth, a syndicated columnist for King Features, advocated a streamlined military and improved conditions for troops.

He lost his mind in the end.

Perhaps. OTH, many of the ideas he expressed are now being implemented.

May Hack rest in peace.

But I do have to say that cancer and pre-cancerous states can play havoc with ones though processes. I think that's part of Hack's story late in life. But rest in peace oh turtlenecked one:)

Tijuana is where the alternative cancer treatment clinics are. He may have gone to one.

He was involved in Abu Grahib and another story, too, but I can't remember which one. It could have been the Texas National Guard docs, but I am not sure.

Agree. I wonder if he possibly needed money to pay for his treatments and that led him to espouse somewhat different views. Who knows - he might have been paid to do so.

Whatever, may he rest in peace and thanks for his service.

He reported Admiral Boorda's miswearing of medals of valor. Boorda off'ed himself.

I don't think we ever had any solid proof on the TANG thing, but I'm pretty sure it was solid on the photos. That's why I couldn't figure out why people kept apologizing for him.

Hack had puzzled me in recent years.

His wife is a DNC donor.

From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember'd;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,

"Most likely Mexico because they'll do risky things with advanced cancer that the FDA prohibits."

There are numerous cancer treatment centers/clinics in Mexico that offer reputible, alternative treatment modalities to cancer patients. Often times the patient is in Stage IV and conventional medicine (i.e., AMA, FDA, Drug Company) has given up, told them to go home to die. This is after conventional medicine has destroyed the patient's immune system with chemotherapy or radiation. Some of these late stage cancer patients have been healed by these alternative treatments. Many who have chosen an alternative treatment modality early in the course of the cancer have been healed and go on to live quality, productive lives.

There is no "magic pill" for cancer. There are many treatments that successfully treat many cancer patients. There seems not to be any proven treatment that successfully treats every cancer patient.

Many MD's who have been involved with conventional AMA, FDA approved treatment modalities opt for alternative treatments for their own cancer, if they develop the disease. Their experience with others has taught many of them that the conventional treatments are of little value.

Cancer cells form in our bodies daily, and if we have a healthy immune system the cancer cells are destroyed before they can multiply and begin their damage. Unfortunately, many of us have immune systems that have been impaired by diet, environment, lifestyle and negative things we do to our body like over-indulgence in tobacco, alcohoi, drugs, or food. An impaired immune system often allows cardiovascular disease, Alzheimers, diabetes, and many others, including cancer to develop.

I beg your pardon. Trafficking in those pictures with CBS got our people KILLED just like the Kerrys, and the Clintons, and the Moores, and the Frankens, and the rest of the leftists aid and comfort to the enemy. It emboldens them. It causes additional resistance, additional attacks, additional deaths. You can deny, but you can't change the truth.
