Gay-marriage plan has local Dems fuming
Lowell Sun ^ | 5/5/2005 | ROBERT MILLS

Local legislators and delegates say the move to change the official party stance on the issue during the party's annual state convention in Lowell this month is the work of liberal “extremists” within the party who have taken over the conventions and could easily harm more moderate candidates for state and local office. Party leaders are expecting between 2,500 and 3,000 people at the one-day convention, which will also feature speeches by Sen. Edward Kennedy, National Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean, and three potential candidates for governor.

If the Republicans actually had any decent leadership in this state, I would be salivating. But considering that they themselves are a bunch of politcal cross-dressers, I think I will just take some funny looking pills instead.

Hey, let's let them do this.

The more extreme they get, the more support the Democrats will lose. Our party can reap some extreme benefits from this.

The dems in-fighting, eating their own. This is good.

We need to set an example of staying unified.

"Hey, let's let them do this. "

I'm glad their doing this. But what good would it be to see ABC fail if the only option was NBC? The Republicans in this state have an opportunity to capitalize. But they don't have the leadership to do so since they themselves are liberal.

This state really bites.

I know. We've got to purify the Republican Party in Massachusetts. We must remove the liberal infestation.

How did Lowell end up with a good conservative paper?

I sadly agree. I have waiting for years for the rats to do something to p*** off the people, it hasn't happened yet no matter how outrageous their proposals.

"How did Lowell end up with a good conservative paper?"

Good question, but I have never looked into the answer. I have seen some liberal stuff in there. But when you are in living in a moral sewer, a small air vent can feel good.

Take warning from Canada.

This issue has really divided us - everyone seems to be getting more organized. Hopefully the Democrats will rethink such a plank...

Why would you want them to re-think this? I think we should all write in and support their efforts to get 100% behind the gay marriage inclusion on the platform!!!
2006 rolls around, we can start contacting the iron workers et. al. and ask them if they are going to wear their pink tu-tu's to the support Kerry/Kennedy rallies! What a hoot!

Mass reaps what it sows
they elect these bozos time and again and then are shocked when stuff like this happens
i knew MA was doomed when i would go to my gym talk political philosophy, have near universal agreement (and yes i am very conservative) yet when i ask who they vote for it is always the Democrat.
Democrats could run Hitler, Stalin and CHairman Mao and they would still win everything except the governorship
