But if you have read many of his books, maybe you should give him the benefit of the doubt and read the book before you settle on that conclusion. Just my opinion.

There is some substance to what he says, but also a lot of nonesense here.
Southerners in general, tend to be far more polite and more conventional in their behavior than many northerners.
They certainly are far more religious, patriotic and traditional.
