JENNIFER Wilbanks hails from a slice of the South where 32-year-old never-married women are either insane, in prison or gay.
But while her mental fitness is currently up for debate, and her sexual orientation has not been road-tested, as her idiot fiancé has made sure to reveal, I'm beginning to believe something far more sinister is afoot in the state of Georgia.
There may be good reason why a pop-eyed femme fatale who's fairly long in the tooth, by Scarlett O'Hara standards, chose to flee from her marriage to a willing bridegroom who may not be the most brilliant buttercup in the bouquet, but nonetheless appears to possess the majority of his teeth.
Perhaps Jennifer and her hubby-not-to-be are far better suited for each other than meets the eye.
There exists one thing on this planet that's coveted far more strenuously than love, family, health or good sex. It even trumps money as the must-have accessory for the bride on the go. Fame.

Pingoleon!
This whole thing is NUTS as are all involved.
Is that a cheap shot at the South or what? And I'm a Northerner!
sounds like dumb and dumber. neither one seems like much of a prize.
i still wonder who she ran away with and why she was dumped in vegas.
That and a nice place setting of Baroque silver!
Living together for 5 years and never had sex? Ya right.
Not to mention those of us who are home reading about it
it is an attempt at a cheap shot. Statistically though, many if not most women in the south are married before they are thirty. some are on their second marriage by then. Marriage straight out of high school is still very common.

Of course the implication is, if you are a woman in the South and not married by 30 there is some sort of problem with you. What do you want to bet that she has written articles in the past that proclaim that women don't need men or marriage? These people are such hypocrites.
Wow, that article is just loaded with Southern (read: red-state) bashing.

I took as her saying that "normal" women in that particular area are married prior to age 32. I didn't take it as a shot at the South per se. I took it as a shot at older never-married women from that area.
AGREED. It'd all go away if we stopped talking about it or watching it. It was a non-story from day one blown out of proportion by a 24-hour news media desperate for a ratings boost at the beginning of sweeps.
Yes it is. The author seems to operate on the assumption that people marry at age 10 or so in the South. The age that people marry has gone up nationwide and I am sure the South reflects this same trend. I don't think 32 is a particularly old age to marry. Unlike the woman in question, most people at age 32 a pretty clear about who they are and what they want. I think this gal has some other psychological things going on but I doubt they are due to the fact she did not marry at an early age.

>>willing bridegroom who may not be the most brilliant buttercup<<
Given the author making unfounded and stupid stereotypical remarks, he needs to be careful assessing the intelligence of others.
Living together for 5 years and never had sex? Ya right.
He did make a point in his interview with Sean Hannity that she had just begun moving things into his house in the past few weeks and though she had stayed "under the same roof" a few nights, they were NOT living together. He said he wanted to clear up that misunderstanding.
Hey, I'm only the messenger....................
