"The Israelis may be our allies, but they are not us, and they will act in their own best interests, which don't always coincide with our best interests."

...and they should act in their own best interests, just as we should not impose our will on them.

This is exactly why when even our own government has given them info which they have used to help arm some of our adversaries it isn't a pleasant prospect.

They do not act, or need to act as one with us (any more than UK does, for example) so we need to be protected from people like this who don't comprehend the system or don't want to and do damage to both governments.

If an individual's primary allegiance is to Israel they should give up their citizenship here and move to help in Israel. We have a huge number of people who cannot fathom this.

You have a solid tagline, by the way.

Precisely so. I elect a government to act in my best interests, the Israelis elect a government to act in their best interests, and so forth. I don't necessarily blame them for doing so - that's what governments are for, after all. But one thing I do know is that deciding that our interests are the same as their interests is definitely above the pay grade of some reservist bird colonel.

Why, thank you. Credit to the author, of course ;)
