i've read the script, seen snippets of the movie from the XBOX and PS2 games, and read the reviews. This movie is going to be the best of the six. I have no doubt about that. It sold out advance tickets completely in several markets. it is going to be huge. People forget that Phantom Menace and Attack of The Clones were neccessary developmental stories that lead us into this one. if he had gone in numerical order, and we had no other "star wars" product to compare it to, people would probably recognize it for what it is, a trilogy of movies that develop a completed story in the last installment, much like Lord of the Rings did.

Give the Tin Foil Hat crowd anything to chew on and they will bite with their pocket books.

This thread is a good way to bring out the trolls on this forum.

People forget that Phantom Menace and Attack of The Clones were necessary developmental stories that lead us into this one.

That's no excuse for them to have stunk. Lots of authors and filmakers have made multi-installment stories without the first one or two being so crummy. I'd actually argue the other way. The third movie is the one that had to be crafted to fit into the beginning of things at the time of Star Wars. He had a completely free hand to do anything he wanted in the first two movies to get things to that point.

Here's my theory -- Lucas is not very good at happy stuff, but is very good at the darker stuff. The lasting icon from the first movie wasn't Luke Skywalker, but Darth Vader. And the happy little Ewoks were just horrible. The first two movies from this second trilogy dwelt largely in a "better time". This third movie, with evil triumphant, likely will be the best of the three for that reason.
