No he wouldn't, because he has no contact with the women in question. Getting up in his teammate's face about it wouldn't change a thing, it would only close the teammate's mind to any good witness Casey might provide about his beliefs.
I'm about as orthodox Catholic as they come, but I've learned in my 52 years here on this earth that screaming, yelling and pointing fingers doesn't change minds as much as compassionate and purposeful witness does. I also learned, as a GRITS, that you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
When we were expecting our first child, we went to a doctor who was recommended by a couple in the Charismatic Covenant community of which we were part. I got the test done, found out I was indeed pregant, but before I went to the doc for the first time, I heard from another couple in the community that he performed abortions. Sir SuziQ made an appointment with him to discuss it personally. The doctor confirmed that he did, in fact, do abortions, but he considered it a compassionate thing to do for the poor women in his care. SSQ made the case that he wasn't helping them at all by killing their children, he was only causing more problems for them, psychologically, down the road. SSQ 'witnessed' by his calm discussion of his opinion, and told the doctor that we would NOT be using him as our OB. This doctor was a 'cultural Jew' at the time, and we found out a year later, that he had stopped doing abortions, was baptized and became a Christian. We like to think that SSQ's discussion might have sparked something in his heart that put him on that path.
Who said anything about "getting in someone's face", or "screaming, yelling, and pointing fingers"? Your frank discussion of your objections to your would-be OB/GYN sounds like it was appropriate, and eventually effective. You chose not to remain silent, in accordance with Traditional Catholic teachings, whether you had the specific admonition in mind or not. If Valentine is making a big deal about the wonderfulness of his mother's relationship with her pervert partner, Mr. casey is obliged by his beliefs to call a spade a spade, just as you did. Not yell, not scream, not get in anyone's face. Again, my original question pertains to whether or not he did so.
BTW, no "conservative Catholic" would be a part of a "Charismatic Covenant community". Must have been a youthful indiscretion. ;-)
