Those of us who have been following this outbreak for the past few weeks/months are just as stunned today and you are are. This variant is 100% fatal. Dr. Niman, I believe in email conversation with Judith confirmed this. We have already recognized an number of inconsistencies with the current outbreak verses past events. These are the fatality rate, failure to 'burnout', healthcare worker deaths, the people of Uige associating the disease with the hospitals and workers, and a number of other issues. Like what appears to be a government blackout on information, manipulation of numbers, 'false negatives' with no explanation what these people did die from if not Marburg...and finally with the amount of fear and terror in the population no news announcing survivors following treatment at the isolation units.

Not quite 100%. We now have a second reported survivor so 2/282 = 99.3% fatal. The denominator is suspect, as is the numerator--so maybe it is 100%.
