The horse joke just sets those conservatives aside who have never lived rurally. It's a city slicker joke, about someone who is so clueless on a farm he doesn't know a horse from a cow or a cow from a bull/mare/stallion/gelding. Masturbation is not what it's about.

I'm telling you - don't get conned into any definition of "South Park Republicans." It's a term made up by liberals to cope with their loss of media monopoly and government power.

Readjusted? It gets readjusted by someone, all the time.

I won't be vicious, but I gotta say what little I have seen of southpark is 100% incompatible with Christianity. If you find people mocking Jesus and His message to be humorous, if perversity and vulgarity amuse you, you have missed the whole point of Christianity.

No one can thumb his nose at God, live in rebellion and be saved. If you think otherwise, you might want to spend some time reading the bible.

I think it's fine that you don't watch South Park, and if you think that will help you on the road to Heaven then congratulations to you. I wouldn't dare attempt to change your mind about the show or tell you my perceptions from watching it considerably more than your "little" - which apparently makes you an expert.

But in all seriousness, it's not up to you, even remotely, to determine my salvation or whether or not I have "missed the point of Christianity." That ain't your domain. The Bible, that you suggest I read, says so, and if you've missed that then perhaps there is a log obscuring your vision.

L.N. Smithee: You're either lying, or you're stupid. If you really understood what I wrote in the first place, you wouldn't have reacted as if I was -- using YOUR words -- "calling Peach a 'faux Christian'"

Howlin:You [wrote to Peach]: "You could be a troll, too -- one of those "faux Christians" on that ol' Internet. I just read about them somewhere. "

Let me see if I can possibly make this simple enough for you to understand. Pay close attention to the words in bold, red, and underlined font:

Peach, Post 193:Times are changing and I just don't like to see the Republicans lose their big tent status, but there's nothing I can do about it so we'll just sit back and watch as the extremists turn off the very people who were considering a move to our party until a short while ago.

Cherokee Conservative, Post 237 Good grief Peach. The liberals ran off most Christians from their party by calling them the Taliban, Holy Rollers, and any other name they could think of when they didn't agree on moral issues. You try the same tactic and then blame Christians for breaking up the party. ????

People disagreed on some jokes the first Lady told for hells sake! Does it really have to destroy the party? I wasn't bothered by the jokes, but I did cringe a little knowing that some would be. It doesn't make me hate them and call them names though. You're the one with the venom for anyone who doesn't agree with you on something stupid, and just because their Christians. If you don't want people with different opinions or religious values at FR, and want it to go back to being small and insignificant, that's just stupid. If you want the same for the Republican party, the Democrats win. All because you can't stand religious people.

Peach, Post 264: You haven't seen the posts calling her a whore, white trash and worse. Much worse.

And you obviously haven't seen the posters who attack others Christianity because we somehow just aren't Christian enough for them.

So don't you DARE tell me I can't stand religious people.

Cherokee Conservative, Post 287: I've read every single post, including your Taliban comments. Nice try at covering your tracks though. I should have said you don't like Christians who have different opinions than you. You're the asshat who said FR has been invaded by the Taliban. Don't say things like that if you feel the need to excuse them later.

Peach, Post 299: I haven't felt the need to excuse the remarks and stand by them. 100%.

The radical 1-2% of the base is trying for classic over-reaching and it's not a pretty sight. It's humorless and petty and at times, what with the name calling of the First Lady a whore and worse, it's ugly.

Cherokee Conservative, Post 316: I see, and you're a much better person for calling everyone else in the thread who disagrees with you a member of the Taliban and a Bible thumper. I didn't see anyone chopping peoples heads off or shooting women in a stadium. Your comments were just as ugly. If you hate it from other people, don't dish it out. The hypocricy on this thread turns the stomach. You all talk about the "extremist fringe" who have different moral values than yourselves. Do your really think the majority think Christians are the Taliban? YOU are the extremist fringe.

Peach, Post 328: The Taliban believes in rigid control of women. So do the radical extremists on the right. They were offended that Laura even got UP to talk. At all. Little Woman should have just stayed in her seat and smiled.

Cherokee Conservative, Post 341: And oh how convenient it was to lump anyone who didn't agree with you into that group. You just did the same things to Christians....they should sit down and shut up and stop disagreeing with you. No one in this thread was upset that Laura even got up to talk. You directed your venom at the wrong damn people if this was your reason. I'm thinking it's more backpeddling.

Peach, Post 350: I don't want Christians to shut up.

But having talked to a gazillion of them in real life, not the faux pretenders on the internet, not one of them was upset with the jokes.

What I would like, but will never have, given the nature of the internet, is for people to fully understand that we can say we are anything on the internet. But it doesn't mean that's what we are.

For example, the book for which Jim RObinson wrote the foreward, Hillary's Secret War, details how the left comes to sites like this one and pretends to be Christian or conservative but in reality they are paid opinion shapers.

They cause dissent among the good conservatives who have been here for years. And lead the more naive among us.

Since I've talked to people in real life, most of whom are Baptist, and they didn't have a problem with the First Lady's jokes, then I'm assuming that most of these people on here aren't what they are professing to be.

Oh, I know now that I'll see a bunch of posts professing they they are "real" and they are "concerned". But, it's the internet. I'm Queen Elizabeth.

Cherokee Conservative, Post 369 Okay, so if someone disagrees with you on something as stupid as whether Laura's joke was in poor taste or not, they must automatically be a phony Christian, a liberal in disguise, and a member of the Taliban. Makes no sense Peach. Your outrage was stupid. You keep bringing up issues that haven nothing to do with this thread, so I'm thinking you realize your attack on Christians and name calling rants were silly. I wasn't bothered by the jokes, but it didn't send me into a name calling tirade to hear that others were. You obviously have many other issues with religious people that cloud your ability to remain sane in some threads.

Peach, Post 374: Maybe if you'd been around here longer than 30 odd days you'd know what you were talking about.

L.N. Smithee, Post 718: March marked my seventh year as a registered Freeper. Cherokee has you down pat.

Peach, Post 728: That I'm a troll? LOL

L.N. Smithee, Post 749: No, that you have a serious problem with people you deem to be too religious. But who knows? You could be a troll, too -- one of those "faux Christians" on that ol' Internet. I just read about them somewhere.

That is the full and proper context of my statement. Any fair assessment of the record confirms that I was not the one questioning other participants' Christianity. PEACH WAS DOING EXACTLY THAT. So, again, I say, direct any criticism at calling people 'faux Christians' to PEACH.

Do you get it now? You'd better. I'm not going to break down bite size bits further into subatomic particles for you. You're on your own.

You also refused to address my question -- Why do you think people like me [believe] we're infallible and perfect just because we don't appreciate (or aren't used to) barnyard humor?

Ah yes, what is most important is an open mind, isn't it?

But in all seriousness, it's not up to you, even remotely, to determine my salvation or whether or not I have "missed the point of Christianity."

I didn't determine your salvation. I said that those living in rebellion to God are not saved. You can draw whatever conclusion concerning your salvation you find appropriate.

As to missing the point of Christianity, holiness is a huge part of it and it doesn't include anal sex jokes and crude language. Yes, it is a chore and a long journey we never finish. And that is precisely why we can't just pretend anything is acceptable. That ain't your domain. The Bible, that you suggest I read, says so, and if you've missed that then perhaps there is a log obscuring your vision.

Of course, whatever your sin, the sin of anyone who dares criticize you must be greater?

She made the case crystal clear that we were right to do just that!

I had a friend of the family whose folks were rounded up in Portland, Oregon and shipped to Manzanar. They lost their grocery business, their house, and most of their belongings. They were Americans, who were denied all the rights people in a Free Republic are supposed to be guaranteed. I didn't read her book, only a few of her published articles. She's a lightweight trying to make a buck.

I said nothing about an "open mind." I said I wouldn't try to convince you that you're wrong about South Park and that I think it's good you don't watch the show. Nothing about an open mind.

I didn't determine your salvation. I said that those living in rebellion to God are not saved. You can draw whatever conclusion concerning your salvation you find appropriate.

You insinuated that I am living in rebellion to God, and to say otherwise is disingenuous. My point is that my relationship with God is not for you to determine, especially based solely on how I spend 30 minutes on Wednesday nights.

Of course, whatever your sin, the sin of anyone who dares criticize you must be greater?

Sins are sins. My suggestion to you is that you worry about yours and I'll worry about mine.

Shipping people off to camps based on their ethnic background was a huge failure on the part of the USA to live up to its ideals. It is sad that certain people, especially conservatives like Malkin, still feel the need to defend this sad chapter in American history.
