I wonder what my ex-wife would say about this, considering she recently decided to prove that my 11 year old daughter was really fathered by some other "sperm donor". Not that I would do anything like this; I don't begrudge the support I gave her. She will always be my daughter in my heart.

You're a good man.
I do feel for the girl in this article. Seems that she has two fathers but in reality, none.

Anyone can father a child. It takes a special person to be a *dad*.

I'm very sorry, that's a rotten thing for her to have done. You're a good person. And remember, it's more than just sperm donation that makes a man a father....
I feel sorry for the little girl in this article, too.

That's so sad. I'm very sorry to hear that.
I'm sure you'll always be her father as well.

You're a good sort.
Your ex going after the other guy for support now? You still going to support her too? What a tangled web.

Sad story, but maybe there is something in Sandra Day O'Connor referring to foreign law.
To my knowledge, this would never happen here in the US, once the male signs a birth certificate, he is held forever liable.

God bless you.
I have an uncle, and after he caught his first wife in an affair, she said that their son was not his. The family accepted that.
I've always had my doubts, since my uncle intended to sue for custody of the boy... and then she said it wasn't his.
I've always wondered if I don't have a cousin out there that I don't know.

If I were the cuckholded husband, I'd be upset, too, but what the young girl who had no fault in this think? She must feel abandoned, betrayed, and confused. I feel very sorry for her.
I would like to think I would have continued in supporting and loving her. If they divorced over it, of course, it would make matters more difficult concerning the child.
I do know it can be difficult for men in these situations. It can be hard to do the right thing, and your feelings don't always square with trying to treat the child as lovingly as you would as if it were your own.

I am sorry for your suffering. I hope you can keep supporting your daughter, who is truly innocent in the whole business. It must be very difficult.
I thought it was a presumption at law that all children born to a married woman are the children of the husband. This legal fiction serves a very important funtion.

"pay back the money that he had spent on bringing up a child he had mistakenly assumed to be his own..."
I don't see how a Frenchman could make such an assumption.
