Castration is actually the most humane solution to the intractible recidivist sexual predetor of young children. He can be released, and society will be safe.

I was just checking the sex offender site in the county where my parents live since my kids like to visit with their grandparents. There are several offenders that live within a couple of blocks of my parents and a few near the area elementary school. I called the city police to see why so many offenders are moving into that particular area, since there are so many kids around. The officer that answered the phone (who was rude to me) told me that the offenders were well within their rights to live there.
Who do I call now?

That's not obvious to me, particularly if the problem is with the guy's mind and not his gonads. He could still shot, stab, or blow up all the kids he could get his hands on.

Nobody. They are within their rights to live anywhere they please. I feel for parents in this situation but the alternative is worse. If we start restricting these people to certain areas, who will volunteer their neighborhood?
Besides, if they start with sex offenders, some do-gooders will end with the elderly or the obese, you can bet on that.

A real estate agent.

Try a Newspaper, O'Reilly, Hannity, Limbaugh, Lars Larson, Savage. Go public post to as many sites as you can make lots and lots of noise.

I've done the same thing and have yet to find a zip code where there isn't some sort of sex offender listed! Not all "sex offenders" have hurt children--still trying to figure out what all the definitions mean.
...here pedophiles are listed under "sexual abuse of children" and don't ya know there is one little town that has nothing but a baseball park and there is a pedophile listed for that town....sigh.
Talk to your kids.

He can be released, and society will be safe. You forgot your sarcasm tag...right?
Rape, including pedophilia, is about power. He isn't safe to be around. He just lacks his weapon of choice.

I sent emails to the big newspaper and one of the tv stations. I'm not stopping, either.

Wow. Whose side are you on?

It's REALLY pathetic that the first law of this kind, which has been urgently needed for decades, if not centuries, was passed only at the insistence of a child molestor.
And no, castration won't work for all of them. But it opens the door to employing whatever approach is needed to get the job done. For those who are not cured by castration, frontal lobotomy will certainly do the trick. Can we please not wait for a child molestor to get that law passed (and to get the castration law passed in the other 49 states and DC)?

This is an unusual number of offenders. I've checked lots of zip codes and haven't found many with this number of offenders listed. And the site has a grading level of "likely to reoffend." Most are listed as a "moderate" risk but there are a couple listed as "high risk." At the very least, a high risk offender should not be living anywhere near children.

Not if some idiot doctor give him a prescription for testosterone.

It is a liberal myth, created by UGA professor Susan Brownmiller, that sex crimes are about "power". When you remove the gonads of goats, pigs, roosters, sheep, horses, dogs and men, they become more docile than the female. If you accept the premise that roid rage is caused by excessive male hormones, why not accept the premise that a lack of male hormones can increase passivity?
Castration has been used in Denmark and Germany and can reduce recidivism from 80% to less than 3%. Castrated men do not have the testosterone to drive the brain to think about sex or act upon sexual urges.

someone is proposing this very thing..in Florida maybe? heard the story yesterday. the proposal goes something like: no high risk offenders living within so many yards of schools, bus stops, parks..etc...well, of course people are complaining that such a law wouldn't be fair to the offender!
God help our children.
