Snip...
For the mainly Democratic audience - this was a crowd of Washington journalists and luminaries from Hollywood and Manhattan - it was an evening of cognitive dissonance. How to reconcile this charming image on stage with the Bush they love to bash?
Snip...
Mrs. Bush's performance, and her husband's reaction, wasn't a shock to the reporters who cover the White House. For years they have tried to convince their friends outside Washington that Mr. Bush is actually not a close-minded dolt, and Mrs. Bush is no Stepford Wife or Church Lady. Yes, they're Texans who go to church and preach family values, but they're not yahoos or religious zealots.

Look! The prigs have returned to FR again; yet another meeting of the "Holier Than Thou" Freepers, here to trash the First Lady of the United States for, what is this, going on four days now?
You have a gutter mind; she said no such thing and anybody who thinks she did is SEXUALLY DYSFUNCTIONAL.
That would be you.
Meet the sexually repressed deviates at FR!
Which is exactly the point of my post. I was replying to a poster who was implying that that is what she meant, to endear herself to liberals.
Silliness and ignorance on full display on FR again.
The ONLY people who are sexually frustrated appear to be these Freepers who have their minds in the gutter!
You dont' understand how the dinner works. The media invite the guests....therefore, frankin-stein, hanoi honda, and left gere etc. were there at their invitation. That should explain it all.
As for Laura she didn't do anything wrong.
She was cool, funny and charming.
She delivered everything with style and grace and of course, that beautiful smile and those sparkling eyes.
If you didn't see any humor in what she said then you must not have a funny bone that can be tickled. She was AWESOME.
Obviously there are a few folks around here unable to take a joke.
The really scary thing is these ARE the people who didn't want Bush in the first place and who are now determined to take over the GOP and run their candidate in 2008. You know, the PRUDE candidate!
It didn't even cross my mind that Mrs. Bush was referring to her sexual needs not being met.
I missed that interpretation too.
Which deviate owns it?
Seriously? Who on EARTH said that?
Or get laid.
It's a pendulum swing... I was amused yesterday, angry this morning, now I am amused again.
But don't mistake my current mere amusement with a lapse in my commitment to never let the puritans get a hold of too much power. We haven't had tyranny by political correctness until we've tasted their flavor. ;~D
The discriptions posted by those depraved individuals are far more explicit than anything Laura said. It's bazaar.
LOL.....
Don't waste energy being angry, chick. I used to find them mildly amusing....now I just find them hilariously funny parodies.
The whore comment was absolutely disgusting and uncalled for.........but I'm just not bothering with that poster any longer.........it was mildly annoying when he question my morality, conservativism, and parental abilities - but his remarks about the First Lady were beyond acceptable.
I truly found it funny and I didn't hear the vulgarity that you heard. I didn't hear Mrs. Bush say that the President masturbated a horse or that Mrs. Cheney fondled a stripper. Putting a dollar bill in a g-string is not fondling. Unless her hand slipped and she cupped and manipulated his package. LOL Really, none of what you have said crossed my mind.
Besides, after seeing that pic of the VP that's floating around the internet, I don't think Mrs. Cheney would find thrills in fondling another man's package. The VP would get $1000 bills in his g-string if that pic is real!
