The United States has detected signs that North Korea may be planning to conduct a nuclear test in Kiljoo in North Hamkyong Province, a Seoul daily reported Tuesday."The U.S. reconnaissance satellite has taken pictures of trucks moving a lot and movements of cranes and other equipment in a place in Kiljoo in North Hamkyong Province," a South Korean government source was quoted by Chosun Ilbo as saying.
U.S. intelligence authorities have conveyed to their South Korean counterparts related satellite pictures and their assessment that they believe these pictures indicate that North Korea is likely to conduct a nuclear test, the source said.
But South Korean intelligence authorities have been cautious about the U.S. assessment because the signs detected so far are not enough to determine that North Korea is preparing for a nuclear test.
North Korea sent shockwaves through the international community in February by saying it has produced nuclear weapons, and it was pulling out of the six-nation talks indefinitely.
Six countries -- both Koreas, the United States, China, Japan and Russia -- had held three rounds of talks to persuade North Korea from ending its nuclear arms development program since August 2003.
But the fourth round of talks failed to take place in September last year as North Korea boycotted them, citing the "hostile" U.S. stance toward it.
How about Berkeley or Ithaca?
Myabe they will, kind of accidentally, blow themselves up.
The NK's may be chanting their "dying song".
Hopefully he'll want to make a close personal inspection of the bore hole, be vertical or horizontal, of the alleged test site.
Kiljoo? Did the Palestinians select the site?
