In the past 5 years, 46 Tennessee teachers have lost their licenses for sex crimes against students.
That'll teach 'em a lesson. </sarcasm>

Those who wanted to hound the Catholic church have long been silent on molestation in public schools and from UN officials.
Even in the US there are serial rapists working for the UN who flee the country when they are brought up on charges of child rape.

These kinds of statistics were noted several years ago my Professor Philip Jenkins, University Of Pennsylvania in his comparison between Catholic priests, other religious from different denominations and secular professions. Jenkins found that priests had the lowest percentage of abuse of any of the groups.
But you can bet that there will not be slanderous attacks on all teachers the way there have been and are slanderous attacks on all Catholic priests.
It defies justice and decency to slander and libel any group because of a small perccentage of criminally deviate members, but this kind of reporting needs to be put into persepctive with the crap that was leveled against the Catholic Church.

The figures do not include a teacher who finds out he is under investigation and just resigns. He?? From what I've read recently, the word she would probably be more appropriate.

I am astounded at the number of teachers who have been charged with these crimes. We're living in a cesspool.

In the '60's liberals plan was to change the world by taking over teaching. I guess that they have.

People shouldn't sue the schools if their children are molested, they should sue the teacher unions for hiring them.

The figures do not include a teacher who finds out he is under investigation and just resigns.Yeah, and goes to a different district and begins teaching (and molesting)again.

Something to note... this was just in Tennessee! If all you count are the 46 teachers that have lost their licenses, that would still be roughly 10 per year. Assuming Tennessee would be an average state, you could assume the average number of cases per year is around 10 per state. That would make about 500 cases per year nationwide. Enough to report two every weeknight on the nightly news.
Funny... but I don't think the number of cases involving the priest issues have come anywhere close to this.

Moral Absolutes Ping.
One more for the road. People think that Catholic priests cornered the market on crimes against children. Looks as though public school teachers are miles ahead. Solution - no homosexuals allowed to become priests, and shut down government schools. The tax money saved can create zillions of private schools, and people will be able to afford them with the vast reduction in property taxes.
Parents, keep your children away from public screwels!
Let me know if you want on/off this pinglist.

Well, if you ever wondered why there seems to be so much emphasis on "sex education" for elementary grades, (and much of it perverted at that), maybe you have an answer.
I wonder how the Administrators and School Board Types stack up?

This is just for Tenn. If Tenn is reflective of nationwide statistics, then the situation is horrendous.
