Before Contessa Brewer was on with Imus, another MSNBC babe - Amy Robach (sp?) was on his program. I wondered why she put herself through his crap. She didn't last long and I suspect that she asked to be removed. I also suspect that Contessa was in some part referring to her when she made her "beautiful woman" comment.
Any woman who stays on the program with Imus has absolutely no self respect. None.
I gave that up along with 8-tracks.

That's a reasonable view of Imus. He's non-PC, irreverent, and I sure as H wouldn't want him for a next door neighbor. But the best counterblast ever, came from Tim Russert. Imus led off by ridiculing his being overweight, and Russert fired back,
"At least I don't look like a STUFFED MUMMY in a cowboy museum!!"
He does not need a reason. He just shoots. That is why his pistol is empty!
There was one exception. Two years ago a young Italian from the Bronx named Christy Musamecci came on his show. Imus cruelly ridiculed another young woman, and Christy leaped to her defense, calling him out in no uncertain terms, in the fiercest language. Imus shrank into his chair and begged for mercy. Not only was Christy Musamecci not fired, she stayed on for another year and a half, and left on her own terms, to take a higher paying job at MSNBC. Thus was the bully confronted, by a girl.
You know that neither party would be trashing the other without prior consent of MSNBC. Transparent ratings stunt alert!

I thought that was a slap at his flaky, mannish wife. It does have a bit of self-approval in it, but I'm sure it roasted that corpse Imus to hear his loopy vegan bedmate hacked. Here's a pic of Mr., er, Mrs. (shudder) Imus...the one SHE picked on her Deirdre Imus center for raising wuss kids website...and why is she wearing Jerry Seinfeld's shirt?
Oh, I forgot, it's the kneepads that keeps bringing McC back to the show.
Wish I'd seen that dummy get slapped down like the beeatch he is. He's an unfunny, talentless hack, who does nothing but imitate Howard Stern. I don't understand why anyone with a political future would go on his show, or why it got national exposure on TV, although I suppose the utility of his show is that we find out who prefers to have their ass smooched by faux-cowboy's lips so that we know to vote against them.
Imus and Bernie get a real adolescent thrill out of cruelly hazing any new person who has the misfortune of seeking membership in their little group.
They've been awful to Contessa, just as they were to other staffers, the blond traffic chick that used to be on, and to the long line of sports guys. They've all taken a beating that was really NOT fun to watch.
Deirdre is actually a very pretty woman. That picture isn't the most flattering.
Imus pumped the cancer kids ranch and I believed him. Now this from The Wall Street Journal
" Don Imus received criticism from the Wall Street Journal Thursday for the costs incurred by his charity that brings sick children to his ranch for visits.
The paper, quoting the filings of Imus' charity, reports that it spent $2.6 million in 2003 and $2.7 million in 2002 to bring 100 children to the ranch each year. That works out to just under $3,000 per night per child, which the paper reports is far more than spent by other charities.
It said that Camp Starfish, another well-known charity for children, hosts over 150 kids a summer on a budget of $360,000 a year, while actor Paul Newman's charity, The Hole in the Wall Gang Fund, has a budget that's more than twice as large as the Imus Ranch but hosts 10 times as many kids at its summer camp.
The paper also said the charity is supposed to account for or be compensated for the personal use of the ranch by Imus and his wife, but hasn't done so.
On his radio show Thursday, Imus attacked the story as a hatchet job. He said that he and his wife work for the charity, both raising money and doing chores during the children's stay at the ranch, all without compensation.
"Why don't you do a survey about other foundations this size and see what they pay their chief executives? Most charities spend 50 cents to raise a dollar," he said. He also called "insane" the notion that he uses the ranch for private use, saying that when he takes vacations he goes elsewhere than the ranch.
"I've got a penthouse apartment in New York and a mansion in Westport (Conn.). Why would I go someplace that I can't breathe," said Imus, referring to medications he takes to help with breathing while he's at the ranch.
He also says that about $800,000 of the reported annual expenses for the ranch are for depreciation, and that the charity does not raise money to cover that expense. But he said that it is expensive to provide the facility for children because the cost of the running the ranch year round.
"Am I spending too much money per child? If you believe that, don't give money to the ranch," he said.
The Journal said New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer inquired about the charity earlier this year, but that the review isn't an investigation, according to sources in Spitzer's office, and was prompted by the ranch's delayed filing of its financial statements.
Imus said Thursday that Spitzer's office wasn't aware that he had been granted an extension for the filing. He pointed out that he has endorsed Spitzer's run for New York governor and that he did so before he was contacted by Spitzer's office.
